There is seriously something ominous about Mike throughout these past couple of weeks. I was 10 when he won the title in 86, Ive seen every iteration of him as a fighter, the prodigious 18-22 yr old, the Don King, Rollin with the homies distracted Mike who Douglas knocked out, the post prison macho dining on his name Mike who was nothing like the fighter that reigned in the 80’s to the washed up shell of a fighter besieged with personal troubles. The Mike i’m seeing now in the eyes is the Mike that is really focused, wants to be there and want’s to show himself, Jake and the rest of the world especially the millennials, who he was and what he can still tap into. This game is no joke and not just anyone can do it. Of course he’s 58 and Jake is 27 so we will see if Mike is the exception, ability wise it’s not even close, stamina is my concern should Mike need it.
