Back in 2012 I worked in a factory. I was suddenly promoted to a head of management and chief of maintenance positions and decided to immediately tell the higher ups about one of the workshop managers who forced his work on others. I was one of his prior targets. He was fired after a week of investigation.

Protip: if you have the opportunity to take out a toxic boss, fucking do it! I had heard (I don't know how true this is, but I would've been able to find out if I had just done this) that my toxic boss was one complaint away from getting canned. She had been harassing and micromanaging me, like she had done before. That last time, I took it up with her boss (who is actually freaking awesome), and when that was happening I took records by noting dates and times of incidents. Anyway, when she started that shit again, I had considered talking to her boss (even though this was a different boss), but I didn't. I was pretty stressed from dealing with a severely traumatic situation that I had just gotten out of, so I guess it didn't occur to me. Anyway, several months later, I was fired for going on short-term disability due to said trauma. They didn't admit that they were firing me over that, but I live in a state where you can be fired for literally any reason whatsoever, as long as they claim it's for something else that isn't a protected status (which mental health status is one). Had I taken the damn shot back when I heard that, that bitch would've been gone. Side note: I also found out from a now-former coworker that this bitch was responsible for said coworker's divorce. Anyway, it took me seven fucking years to get a job after that, thanks to a) being disabled due to mental health issues and b) because the job market has SUCKED since 2008. So, yeah, if you have the opportunity to get them fired, take it! Make sure you take meticulous records of their toxic behavior, too, because that will build your case.

Also, if THEIR bosses, and/or other authorities, DO NOT have your back, then you need to make them pay the price as well.

I didn't directly get him fired, but I was involved. We got a new supervisor about a year ago. He was good at first, but that was short lived. This man was lazy, incompetent, sexist, and racist. Probably homophobic too, but didn't notice anything myself. For being lazy and incompetent, he would always have my coworker cover for anyone who called out, instead of doing it himself since she has her own shit to do. When he actually did something, he would have someone help him, even when no help was needed or given to anyone else doing. He decided to change our our work assignment so that I'm doing a two person job. But it's okay, because he'll help. In one year, I can count on one hand the amount of times he helped. When he did, he did a lousy job that my blind ass could see, and never put anything away. Didn't order all of the supplies we need, either. For being racist and sexist, he would yell at my Nepali coworker and claim he couldn't understand her even though her English was fine. I never witnessed any of this, but others did. I started to record everything she told me and planned to speak with other coworkers so I would have more than just complaints when reporting him. She ended up quitting before I could report him. Her replacement has said he made her uncomfortable, but I don't recall any details. The final straw came in August (not sure how it lasted that long) when he falsely accused the manager of sexual harassment against him. The report was taken seriously, but quickly found to be false. He was given until the end of August to find a new job, and we've been much happier without a supervisor. Probably should have made my report much sooner, even though others did Tldr: incompetent supervisor was finally fired after a year of reports

Had a boss that would do that at the first job I worked. Anything anyone did that she didn't like, suddenly there was a policy against it. She left at the end of 2020, a few years after I quit. Don't know if she was canned or left on her own but the people of the building said it felt like a huge curtain had been lifted when she left. On top of that, she was also embezzling funds meant for senior citizens and we believe was using her keys to enter and steal from people (this was an apartment building, and she was the property manager)

This was a different boss for the same company. I work at a farm garden center in the maintenance area (mechanic for irrigation systems). The company gets a new store manager who was mean. First thing she did was firing an employee with a learning disability. The girl (Chelsea was always nice to us we didn't have lots of contact but she knew everyone and made sure to see us. Once the boss fired her, Chelsea ran out crying and people were upset, Dawn the manager said "If you don't like it than leave" (3 people quit after that.) Her next firing was Brandon who was the store janitor. He came off as quiet and shy but talked with us all the time as his select group. Told him to raise hell on the way out (he flipped over a trash can and called the boss fat ass bitch, at least he still has a mom among other things (People clapped and cheered as he walked out, Dawn fired another person for smiling at Brandon swearing at her because of inappropriate behavior. (With in a week she was down from 12 staff to 6. A couple of MMI walking by (maintenance, mechanics, and it). She said we had to clean up the floor because someone peed on it. Mike or mad Mike (from IT said get your janitor, oh wait you fired him never mind, use one of your people). Dawn says to spanish worker, "Hey over there, clean up dirty floor" (in fake accent) He throws his uniform on the pee puddle and quits. She tried to start something with me and I said, im gonna check with George first (hes the owner just mentioning his name makes people freak out) she Told me to just go. Next day were on the phone with George and telling him store manager. George: "So how many people do you think left, me 7 ,3 fired 4 by choice, i am interrupted in the call another person just quit and one gave notice. Me: yeah someone is telling me two peoplev just walked off. (Now its down to three). One co worker starts writing down everything Dawn said to him. (Mike grabs the phone and says oh hey George its Mike im good listen, "Fat ass has to go she told me to clean up a piss puddle, so much of her staff left shes expecting mmi to pick up the void she created." (Can hear the phone) George says "Are you serious? She's not supposed to tell you your job that goes through me. Im gonna have a visit on Friday ". To continue the set up. Store staff talking with us. Bring up how much work they are being swamped with. Someone else says at least youre getting paid more, correct? They say no. They're getting paid $8 hour. They mention shes on thin ice with them we Told the store workers to argue about pay $8 is a rip off. Tell her they will have to up your salary 3x the labor 3 times the price. So $24 or youre walking and refuses to budge than tell her you got a job offer elsewhere which pays for the job. They try it the next day as expected she tells them no way. (Two quit, leaving the one who gave notice about left). (Dawn asks Brandon (who now works with us in maintenance). Mike said "Hes not coming back to you". Dawn begs and starts calling people apologizing and they wont come back. Begs people to come back. Than goes around looking for people offering them jobs. (She finds a couple of druggies and a couple of her friends to stand in to look like its a job. George shows up knows its false so he asks the people questions about the job which they don't know. Dawn is fired for inappropriate behavior and mismanagement as well as abuse of power and harassment. (She starts to cry and claim she did nothing wrong than told she is now trespassing goes to her car and throws a tantrum. The worker who gave notice suddenly became the store manager, gets the pay and people started coming back for the job. Best of all last time I checked Dawn is still unemployed. TLDR: Manager is fired after asking an employee she has no power over to clean up a puddle of bodily waste.

I used to work in the bakery department at a grocery store. The store manager at the time did not like spending money to keep departments up to code. Which meant that every single department had dangerous areas/equipment that we had to use daily. Food safety wasn't really a concern for him either. My department had TWO floor drains that didn't work with one of those being in the proofer (a large machine that creates a warm and humid environment to help dough rise quicker). This meant that we couldn't clean the proofer properly which led to drain flies and mold. The runners the large baking racks sat on also had no support. So the weight of the racks would cause the runners to bend and the racks to lean against each other. Add in an old floor with no traction (slips and falls on dry floor were common because of that floor) and you have an accident waiting to happen. Our department manager had tried multiple times to get him to approve the fixes that the department desperately needed but he refused. Early one morning, the baker arrives and is pulling the racks out of the proofer. This involved holding the other racks away with one hand, pulling the rack you want out with the other, and trying to keep your footing while fighting with the racks. She lost her footing and fell backwards and the rack landed on top of her. She was VERY lucky that she was a short woman because not 5' away from this proofer was a stainless steel counter. Anyone but her would have cracked their head on the counter on the way down. The fall knocked her unconscious and she was rushed to the hospital. The department manager again tried to get the store manager to approve the repairs but he just ignored her. I knew of her frustration with this and shared it. I was furious that he was saying that our safety wasn't worth the price of the repairs. So I submitted a claim with my government's health and safety. They showed up THAT DAY at the store for an inspection. The best part was that while the department manager knew immediately that they were there, it was 20 MINUTES before the store manager was informed. The inspector examined my department and then every other department in the store. I never saw his report but the issues were fixed immediately. The store manager shortly after was transferred from our store in the city to a store in a small town. While this company liked to shuffle management around every few years, transferring a manager to a completely different city/town was pretty rare. You don't want to listen to your employee's warnings? Fine. I'll go to someone who will.

Now if this story had happened in the USA, then OSHA and a whole bunch of agencies would have been on that store, and its management, like white on race, that boss would have been fired, he would have been paying medical bills, and he would be facing prison time.
@ViraIshnia Жыл бұрын
@@paxhumana2015 well, it's Canada so no medical bills fortunately. Management immediately jumped on repairing the issues so when health and safety came back, the changes had been made. That company REALLY doesn't like firing management so instead it just moves them to somewhere shitty so that they quit. I don't know about prison time but I do hope that the company at least got a fine

Worked an evening shift where we had a team lead and about five workers. The lead guy would vanish for about half of every shift. He would reappear with food for himself and leasurely eat. The rest of us got a half hour to eat and there was no place you could go, get food, and be back in a half hour. Middle of nowhere. But this guy would go for hours. He kept doing that and sometimes came back to work stoned out of his mind, occasionally with lady of the night in tow. So one afternoon I casually asked his manager if we should call another supervisor when we needed something. He asked why and I explained the guy was gone a lot and we didn't know what to do when work issues came up. Manager guy raised an eyebrow and thanked me. Never saw vanishing man again. Heard he later won a cash prize and spent it all on nose candy. At least he was consistent.

But then they began using the camera for all three presenters and here we are. Making jokes about the AI getting new glasses.

Bro those glsses made a WORLD of difference in your narration style. Before, you sometimes stumbled along a sentence, or hesitated before several words, and I'd get a little frustrated because it wasn't flowing quite right and sometimes my ADHD brain would forget the beginning of the sentence by the time you hit the end. It wasn't bad by any means, just a bit off. Now though your storytelling has improved tenfold!

i think the story of the girl stealing from the restaurant is very similar to what happened at my job. she pocketed cash tables, took any extra money from the register. the owner caught onto what she was doing and put and extra 20 in a drawer and it was 40 short which means SHE TOOK SIXTY DOLLARS FROM THE REGISTER. she got fired but after a few months every single person we hired to cover her shifts quit, one girl even moved to TENNESSEE without telling us so they hired her back but put a camera in the spot the register is done and they also try to have someone else do it. a week after she came back she announced she was pregnant. i overheard the owner telling his brother yesterday that she’s asking for maternity leave ….

I guess I have a story about somebody getting fired. Well more like demoted So I worked at a NAPA Auto parts for a while back in 2018 to 2019. It was a small location .so I was hired to be a parts driver. You know the guy who delivers the car parts you name it. I had to do that crap so I was harassed and bullied and when I reported the issue to my manager multiple times he didn't do anything. He just said I'll take care of it. He never wrote up the person causing the problem then the person causing the problem. Well he was promoted to dispatcher over the more tech savvy individual who knew what he was doing with computers (Yes I was supposedly hired to be the dispatcher and they turned on me and told me to go screw off pretty much) So it ends up with this guy now in position of power. He is a freaking monster He harassed me and even sexually harassed, a female who we hired who quit instantly and filed a report with HR as soon as she left and they didn't do anything. I was concerned about this and I wasn't happy to make manners worse. This individual was a former US soldier who served during operation desert Storm in the '90s so he gets protection with Napa's broken rules (NAPA Auto parts has this veteran first policy which dates back to world war I it's another story in itself) So after a year I couldn't stand it. So I called my job coach at the time and said I'm going to leave and find another job just as soon as was about to leave with my two weeks notice the regional manager found out and started doing an investigation when I left. Just say I ran into somebody recently who works at my old store and I found out my old manager not only was fired but blacklisted. The guy who was a war veteran was demoted all the way down to a paint mixer which is the crappiest job of all of Napa. You're just pretty much mixing paint all day. It's their version of scoling you for what you did since they can't fire a war veteran under their broken policy So in the end I guess I got somebody fired and somebody demoted. Today I'm working at the competition and planning to get back at them for what they did to me. But that's another story TLDR : co-worker turned supervisor abuse power due to the fact he was a war veteran manager didn't do s*** cause me to leave. Had corporate investigate causing person to get fired and veteran demoted to paint mixer
