I had mine for getting on for 3 years now. As you suggested, the big thing is the bodywork & especially underneath. Get rid of any rust then use the best quality underseal you can afford as this is the overwhelming reason why Bongos get scrapped. All I do with the engine is to get it a good service once a year & it has proved as reliable as clockwork (& I do 10k miles per year in it)

Yeah the engines seem pretty solid and regular servicing seems to be enough. I think in the summer I'll redo the underseal for the whole van, might even take it to a specialist place as they'll have the ramps and tools for that job. Thanks for watching :)

I've loved watching your channel as been meaning to get a Bongo for ages (and just did!). Any chance you could do a short vid on how the cycle carrier/luggage rack was installed as I'm thinking of doing similar to the Bongo I just bought.

Love the channel! Just a quick question. Do you use your Bongo daily? Or is it just for holidays/weekends away?

Glad your liking the channel :) It's my daily vehicle, but it doesn't get as much in the week as it used too as I don't do the school runs anymore. Although I make any excuse to go anywhere in it just to get out and drive it around!! cheers 👍

Just bought a bingo in fab condition body wise engine was fine but coolant light kept flashing ,coolant looked fine so took it to bingo master Leicester he put scavenger temp sensor in at first seem fine got home chilled out happy my son got home I went to proudly show it off and bumma it wouldn’t start and smoke came out so turned off quickly ??? Any idea ?

Hopefully it's nothing serious. I would consult the Bongo master first as he knows bongo mechanics way better than me and will give better advice. Also the Bongo Owners Facebook group has some great people on there with better mechanical knowledge than me so worth a post. Sorry I'm not much help with mechanical issues, I hope you get it sorted soon!!

Hi yes he changed glow plugs and relay and said it’s all good I’m getting him to underseal it next wk hopefully as I’m really eager to get out there an travel , love watching your videos they are really helpful
