The Chase Is Better Than The Catch appears on Motörhead’s album ‘Ace Of Spades’. Originally released on Bronze Records on 8th November 1980, produced by Vic Maile. The line up on this album was Lemmy, Fast Eddie Clarke and Philthy Animal Taylor.
Lyrics
You know I'm bad, the times I've had
I've got a bad reputation
I don't care, I get my share
Don't feel no deprivation, I don't
The more I get the better it is
I like it fine, like a little whiz
Treat 'em like ladies, that's a fact
You know the chase is better than the catch, you know
Silver-tongued devil, demon lech
I know just what I'm doing
I like a little innocent bitch
You know I ain't just screwing, I ain't
I love you baby, love you too much
I like it fine, I feel your touch
But your appearance don't hold no class
You know the chase is better than the catch, you know
A little beauty, I love you madly
Come on home with me
I know you're hot, I know what you've got
You know I want to shake your tree, you know
Come on honey, touch me right there
Come on honey, don't you get scared
Come on honey, let me get you in the sack
You know the chase is better than the catch
All right
Come on
Let me hear ya
Let me hear ya
Let me hear ya
Let me hear ya
I can't hear ya
I can't hear ya
I can't hear ya, can't hear!

my two favorite metal memories are seeing the original sabbath at vancouver's ozzfest in '99 and seeing motorhead at cowboy's bar in calgary when it was still on 5th and 9th... to this day, i don't know which was better...although ozzy liked the 'black sabbath' tattooed down my spine... but, 30 ft from motorhead cranking it away in a shitty bar? i'll give it to lemmy...

First time I saw them it was, "we are motorhead and we play rock n roll". The sound guy took a shit at that show and there was heavy feedback between every guitar riff...it was awful. Second (and sadly last) time I saw them it was a more intimate show at a House of Blues where a buddy snuck me and my gf in, and they blew my doors off. Absolutely incredible. I've seen literally thousands of shows and it was easily a top 10.

I was 13 years old when I bought this album…. It’s still one of the best rock albums of all time. As a boy, this was a man’s music, Lemmy singing about being a man… I grew up quick.

This song came on the radio once and someone's little 3 year old son asked "Who's singing?" and his dad said "It's Cookie Monster." and whenever a Motorhead song came on, he shouts "Cookie Monster!" :D His dad then said "You didn't know he was in a band?"
