That "wooo" at 1:13 alone makes this song ridiculously cool. Only Bon could add these small, almost imperceptible voice tweaks. The voice, the poise, the swagger, the lyrics-he embodied the whole street rock and roll attitude. He was a pirate with a twinkle in his eye. He was the real deal.

I’m 57. These guys represented my childhood along with other iconic bands of the time, but nothing really compares. It’s 2024 and I just finished a spectacular weekends with friends and we all came to the consensus that they’re the best band to see in concert - nothing compares to the energy and sound that AC/DC unloads.

I’m the same age as you, turned 57 3 weeks ago, grew up on AC/DC, Cheap Trick, DLR-era Van Halen, Ramones, and late 70’s and early 80’s Punk/New Wave… and I saw all those bands live, multiple times. We lived for that stuff. The music was everything, and though I hardly ever still go out to shows, I still listen to those bands constantly and I’ve raised my kids on ‘em. That said, I don’t know if I’d say that AC/DC were the best live band. They were great for sure, but the first 3 times I saw Van Halen (first time was in the fall of ‘79), they couldn’t be touched live. They just blew everyone else away in those days.

Bon Scott's unique vocals were perfect for hard rock, and one can only wonder what could have been. With his loss Malcolm, Angus, and the rest hit the jackpot when they recruited Johnson. Brian Johnson was as close to the original frontman as was possible and with him they were still AC/DC and nothing needed changed. The Back in Black comeback definitely separated the men from the boys when it came to rock bands. Most bands would have faded away after such a shattering loss, but not AC/DC. they grew bigger and better in the world of rock. What a legendary group.

RIGHT ??? I mean I didn't listen to them alot until recently, only to find out what a damn perfect voice and rythm Bon Scott had ... not that I hate Johnson, on the countrary, but Bon's way of rock'n roll just outclasses Brian's in every damn way ......

This band transcends time and race. I'm black and was introduced to this band by a much older white friend who has since sadly passed. He only played Thunderstruck the rest I went looking for myself and have enjoyed all their music since. AC/DC best ever band period. 90's kid here.

As far as bon being the best or the ultimate or a god or whatever title you choose, you're not quite right. Bon Scott is definitely what made AC DC Great. Brian Johnson is an awesome front man and a superstar indeed. But to try to compare them is foolish. As for my opinion on the subject. . . Don't do it!!! It's like comparing chocolate ice cream to vanilla. They're both great but. . . Ronny James Dio, Sammy Hagar, and the likes of Adam Lambert, are all riding on the shoulders of the greats who paved the way for them. Without the GREATS, these others would NEVER HAVE BEEN.

@Per Capita Yeah but I still keep my head in the 1970s and 1980s when I grow up when I was younger. You can't live in the past but no one says you have to accept the future totally Without keeping your foot In both frames of mind. It's not that I refuse to grow up because I've certainly grown up the point is is that I refused to allow myself to be changed completely. Some things are on avoidable but not everything
