~Lyrics~
Larger than life, sharper than a knife,
Ever ready for the time,
Slick and smooth I'm bound to improve your mood,
And make you feel fine,
Reach for me, I'm ready and how
I'm really starting to buzz,
Your feeling comes, I'm starting to hum,
I can do it like nothing else does,
You're never alone when I'm around
You can always rely on me,
I'm a friend, my love won't bend,
And that I can guarantee,
Straight and true and all for you,
I'm so eager to please,
Stick with me and I'll keep you free,
From any nasty disease,
'Cos I'm a Vibrator,
Greased and ready to start,
Vibrator, with a powerpack for a heart
Check my heart before you start,
I don't wanna blow no fuse,
New battery, is that for me?
That's something I could really use,
Power surge I get the urge,
To do my legendary thing,
The stars in your eyes don't tell no lies,
I know your bells are starting to ring,
'Cos I'm a Vibrator,
Greased and ready to start,
Vibrator, with a powerpack for a heart
Vibrator! Vibrator!
Wasn't that good, now wasn't that nice?
Now see we get along real fine,
I knew I was the boy for you,
When you came for the second time,
Clean me up, put me away,
You know you need the rest,
I'll be here when next you need me,
I've never ever failed the test,
'Cos I'm a Vibrator,
Greased and ready to start,
Vibrator, with a powerpack for a heart
I'm a Vibrator,
Greased and ready to start,
I'm a Vibrator,
And I'll never ever break your heart

In my opinion Motorhead was the 1st "Crossover " band. That mixture of Metal & Punk is so clear on this debut album.

Motorhead sounds nothing like thrash. They were influenced by 70s punk while thrash was influenced by hardcore which is something completely different altogether.

I fully and 100% agree with you! It’s very clear they were a fusion of both! They wanted to create music that was more intense, faster, and with more blues aspects then punk rock, but clearly they had the more straightforward punk rock attack that was very different from the hard rock and heavy metal of that time. It’s correctly (in Wiki) classified as both heavy metal and punk rock. Their follow-up in 79 shows early speed metal from a more raw angle.

@@nick16279 Trash also comes from the punk.If you listen the first Venom album called Welcome to hell you will hear that it is a punk. There is no difference in the sound with first Exploited album for example. Only lyrics are different. You know - punk is about anarchy, trash metal is about Satan and so on....

Motörhead (/ˈmoʊtərhɛd/) were an English rock band formed in June 1975 by bassist, singer, and songwriter Ian Fraser "Lemmy" Kilmister, who was the sole constant member; guitarist and songwriter Larry Wallis; and drummer Lucas Fox. The band is often considered a precursor to or one of the earliest members of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, which re-energised heavy metal in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

In my opinion, the "On parole" recordings are much better, because these songs were meant to be more "pub-rockish" (a branch of punk at the time), something the line up with Fast Eddie couldn't handle very well, as the one with Wallis. On "Overkill" the material is much closer to the metal-meets-punk style the band adopted during 1979-1982. But Wallis was definitely far more a punker than a hard rocker.

Anyone who has the 1977 "Motorhead" album on CD / Vinyl... Has this song ever been recorded with Lemmy or is this the same sounding song that is on the record/disc? Larry Wallis sings lead vocals on this song and Fools according to the credits, but those credits are for the "On Parole" album. Vibrator is included on the 1977 debut release "Motorhead" and I was under the impression that all the songs were re-recorded for this debut... However, this version with what I assume is Larry singing, is the only version of the song I've been able to find.

@ray180597 Thats what I mean! Rock no roll ain't like this anymore. industries take advantage today of the crap because it is easy to produce three chord songs and rock riffs. But whats not easy to get that real true feeling. Rock is so refined now. Even the punk. I play punk for people my age and their all "mehhh it';s ok meh" More and more young people are getting pissed and getting into classics. My uncle is in the music industry and sees problems with record sales of modern day music.

Deformed Pie - The only people I've ever known who declared Pantera to be one of the greatest bands ever are closed-minded simpletons with extremely narrow musical tastes. Barring Phil Anselmo's god-awful voice, they're pretty good. Better than Motorhead, though? Hell no.

Well I suppose in your deluded little world that may work, but in the REAL world Pantera are a load of old shite and aren't worthy to be mentioned in the same breath as Iron Maiden, let alone The all conquering Motorhead.
