They’ve actually made the garage to small now, we have two e-bikes, all our chairs and a separate big cooler fridge for drinks and water which is always full in the warmer climates of Europe. Also seems to be a shortage of storage compared to our Cathargo that’s not already filled with electronics Can see slide outs being the next game changer for the big Moho brands.

A lot of motorhoming/RVing in Europe is done on aires (aires de campingcar or wohnmobil stellplatz,etc, apologies for any spelling errors) which are effectively RV parks but usually designed around narrower vehicles so you can’t do ‘camping behaviour’ (such as leaving tables and chairs out) and slide outs aren’t practical because there isn’t room for them. It varies a lot but there can be very little room between you and the next vehicle. In some places ‘wild camping’ is allowed only if you don’t exceed the normal width of the vehicle (rules in Spain for example) so you wouldn’t be able to use your slide out. So, depends upon what type of touring you do but often you just can’t use them. They also add weight and a lot of the time there is a struggle to get a laden motorhome below the 3500kg limit (you might need to take an additional licence to drive anything heavier)and have a reputation for causing problems (leaks especially). So, for the extra expense they generally aren’t considered worth it for many people in Europe.

Did you say 3ltr engine?. To pull 7.2 tonnes? It's going to be under stress all of the time even allowing for the diesel torque.

@@joenunez3800 Well I think I'll leave it to you to inform Iveco, Mercedes Benz and all the other huge manufacturers who fit vehicles like this with this size of engine, not to mention the many thousands of businesses and individuals who buy them, know that they've all got it wrong. 🙂
@joenunez38002 күн бұрын
@@MOTAHOLIC Ah, I see-so you’re assuming every 3-liter engine operates under identical conditions, regardless of custom builds, applications, or design considerations. It’s fascinating that you trust manufacturers to get everything right all the time-surely no product has ever failed under stress, right? 😊 But hey, if you think quoting companies absolves you of digging deeper into nuanced mechanics, I’ll let you stick to the basics. Some of us just prefer to think critically about the finer details instead of blindly trusting assumptions. Pulling 7.2 tonnes with a 3.0-liter engine will definitely keep it under stress. Constant high torque output can wear out engine components faster, including the pistons, turbocharger, and cooling system, leading to overheating risks. The transmission and suspension will also face excessive strain, especially over time or rough terrain. Increased fuel consumption and stress on the fuel pump are other concerns. Even the braking system will struggle under the added weight, potentially reducing safety. It’s clear that while the engine is capable, operating at this capacity will push it to its limits constantly.

It’s really beautiful, I spent almost exactly half that on my motorhome but I can see where the money has gone on this. In the UK you have to have a garage (imho) though, we keep a 124cc Scooter in ours because you cant drive anything this size around the British county lanes. You could tow a vehicle but I assume if you are off to a motor circuit the hitch will be occupied by your race Car/Bike. Having enquired about RC Motorhomes in the past I assume the price is Ex VAT.

C1, maybe! But that only leaves 300kg payload, for people, fuel, food, water, etc! Does it need HGV license?
@adrianengland45632 күн бұрын
No, because the IVECO Daily is plated at 7,200kg. That's the max vehicle weight. No details on the website as to how much payload is left for fuel, water, passengers, toys and luggage. But then the reviewer forgot to mention towing a trailer over 750kg will require a C1+E licence. If you have an old "grandfathers rights" C1+E you're still limited to 8,250kg gross weight including the trailer. So, if you want to tow a heavy trailer, you're going to need to take C1 and C1+E driving tests or go as you say, go the HGV route.
