Even ‪@yammienoob‬ hates this bike. But I can't help to like it. The underdog of motrocycles, often overlooked and riders get it and quickly sell it to get their bike of their dreams. But the inprint of the honda rebel always remain. I've been a fan of beginner bikes for a long time, it's what riders get first. Before their start to buy other bikes and get in trouble with power. But often if you think about it, the honda rebel gives you more than you think.
the Honda Rebel 250 has played an important role in the motorcycle industry, by introducing the cruiser style to a wider audience, providing an affordable and accessible option for new riders, and inspiring a sense of community among motorcyclists.

I recently turned 65, and have a number of disabilities that make it difficult to impossible to get my leg over a normal motorcycle seat. I started riding at age 8 on a 100cc dirt bike, got my license and first street bike at age 16, and have since owned around 50 bikes (mostly cruisers, dual sports, and a couple of Goldwings, NO crotch rockets) and ridden nearly a million miles. I have never owned a computer bike, and never will. All my bikes have been carbureted. I bought a brand new Rebel 250 back in 2016, when a local mom and pop dealer was having a clearance sale. When I saw what Honda had put the Rebel name on for 2017, I just had to get a 2016. I got it OTD for under MSRP. I also have a 2006 Sportster 1200L, a 2007 Royal Enfield Bullet 500, and a 2002 Kawasaki Vulcan 750. But because of its small size, light weight, and low seat, I find myself riding the Rebel a lot, including on the freeway. I've had it up to 81 mph GPS. It does very well in the right lane. Just come up behind a semi doing 65, and fall in behind it. But it will run at full throttle forever. It does not have a computer designed engine. Its engine dates back to the '70s, and is seriously overbuilt. I'm 6' with a 34" inseam. The pegs were too far back for me. I got a forward controls kit that moved the pegs, shifter and rear brake about 5 inches farther forward, and now it fits me fine. It's amazingly comfortable for being so small. I have put over 19,000 miles on it so far. I've heard of Rebel 250s with over 100,000 miles on them.

Who gets a Rebel 250 in 2023? Me, for one. Payed peanuts for it, low mileage, only needed tires...

I have a 125cc version of this bike. Taught a couple of my friends to ride, it's a very easy bike to learn on

We don’t have a 125cc version here in the us

@@motardsquid you in US have no reason for it to exist. In Europe we have 125cc bikes because they’re legal with just a car license

That would be the best way to describe the 250 Rebel, an ultimate underdog bike suited best for people no shorter than 5'11. And I happen to be 5'9", so I think I'll consider a motorcycle like that for a beginner's choice rider. It kinda feels so mogul to me.

I have a Rebel 250 here in the UK . Our roads are not as big as yours so it is well suited for here. I cuise at around 55 . I don't get much vibration and it feels very relaxed even on our motorways . I have owned many bikes both big and small but this is my favourite and a keeper for sure . Quality of construction is far above most modern bikes . Only bad point is the lack of a center stand .

For me the biggest negative issue with the Rebel is it's tube type tires. I was used to being able to easily fix a flat on tubeless tires myself, a flat with tube type tires means a tow truck, even with a centerstand. It's happened to me a couple of times in under 20,000 miles.

@@geraldscott4302 yes I would agree with that . I do like the look of spoked wheels though . So far I have never had a flat while riding but I dread that . The only other thing I miss is a kickstart . Very handy for flat batteries and starter failure . No bike is perfect but my Rebel comes pretty close .

@@ry491 It is easy to have spoked wheels and tubeless tires. Just look at the 1986 and 1987 Rebel 450. Honda designed and built those wheels just for that bike just for 2 years, and they were never seen again. As for a dead battery, I always carry one of those pocket sized jump start packs.

How is it on a regular 2-lane highway at like 60- 65? Im thinking about getting an '06 with only 3000 miles but I've only test rode it around the block
@motardsquid
@motardsquid 15 күн бұрын
it's definately slow. 60-65 is a pretty high mark and the bike screams there. 55 seems better for the bike. A ninja 250 is better ont he highway just because of the aerodynamics. But new rebels should be fine. The 500 has plenty of power.

@@user-ne8bj1xe7x That is why i got it. No speed cable because my cable was broken, and then the wheel sensor was broken. Its just a gps antanae that comes with the gps you have to stick somewhere. No other routing of wires. I did an install video on the channel recently.
