Now that I think about, these are probably the bosses of the needles that Lucas didn't reach. If I remember correctly, Lucas didn't visit all 7 needles, some were pulled behind the scenes. If that were the case, then it would make sense that Claus (the commander) would be fighting Needle Bosses (sanctuary bosses) before pulling a needle.

I feel like the Barrier Trio was the only boss that was directly guarding a needle, and also wasn't put there by Pigmasks or anything. Unless Oh-So Snake was meant to guard the castle needle? But it's very possible that some of the other needles had bosses that were dispatched by Pigmasks. Phrygia's needle would be a good candidate, perhaps guarded by a monster that was dispatched by New Fassad before Lucas and the gang arrive.
