The woman who raised me lost her battle with cancer in 2016. I still carry the burden of my grief, knowing she never got to meet the man I've become. But this song, this *game* makes that weight easier to shoulder. For years I found myself in the Masked Man, blocking out any and all feeling in vain nihilism, solely aiming to numb the pain of my loss by whatever means necessary. But I came to learn that is no way to live. No amount of drugs or alcohol can drown your sorrows. You just grow more and more cold, becoming less and less human. I would say that this game saved my life, but, it didn't. It gave it back to me. Sorry, mom. I'll make you proud.

I can feel Lucas, I was a lot older than him being 15 when my Mother passed away, older than he is when he defeats porky. But my Mothers deaths changed everything, I had to grow up fast and take on so many more responsibilities on top of the grief. I still miss her and mother 3 is a weird experience for me, on one hand I can really relate to it but on the other hand it makes me miss my Mom. Even though I love mother 3 it's because of personal reasons why it's my least favorite Mother game but I still love it to death and it's in my list of top 10 favorite games of all time. Anyone who still has their Mother, spend some time with them and appreciate them while they are still alive because when they pass you'll wish you had spent more time with them.

I've played this game for the first time in 2015 and the second time in 2018. Years later this simple tune is enough to make me cry my eyes out. This game is something else. I carry it with me so close to my heart. In the 8 years since I first played it I have lost my sibling, met the love of my life, finished high school and college and done so much and gone through so much. This theme feels so.... magical. It feels comforting and calming, yet sorrowful and melancholy at the same time, like holding the hand of a loved one in their last moments. It feels almost like the song itself is saying "hey, just sit back and relax. Take all the time you need to gather yourself. Everything will still be there when you get back. Whatever pain you're going through, even if it feels like it'll never change, it will. Things will get better. Stay determined." I havent played the game yet, but I have a feeling that when I do, it will be an experience like no other, a true masterpiece.

a little less than 13 years ago, while my mom was getting chemotherapy, i got to pick out and name a new kitten from the animal shelter. i was really into mother 3 because of a lets player i watched, and my favorite character was kumatora, so i named her that - tori for short. tori got to see me go through middle school, high school, undegrad, and finally grad school. shes been through boyfriends, girlfriends, and best friends who have come and gone. she saw my mom beat cancer, and my dad retire. shes been through multiple hurricanes. through all this, she has been a beloved member of our family - spoiled and melodramatic, but loved. it's time for her to go to the sunflower field, though. she's in a lot of pain now, and she just isn't herself anymore. we can tell it's hard for her to even keep her eyes open and meow now. as she departs, i will play this song to send her off. and i think it's finally time for me to play mother 3 myself. can't promise i won't cry before the end, though.

We miss you, this game changed me, it made me cherish my life and everything and it holds a special place in my heart, Life is very short, too short, one day, so we must cherish those moments of love and Happiness, don’t wait for things to be over, cherish them, I now feel a new stronger sense of love for the people around me.
