Mother cat forgot to carry adopted kitten to a new place, but take care about her daughter

Mom cat Kira recently gave birth to a beautiful golden kitten. After giving birth, she loves to carry it with her wherever she goes. It so happened that the mother cat adopted another kitten. We put a lot of different baskets in the room for the mom cat to choose which one she likes (she likes to lie in different places). And so the mother cat moved her daughter to a new place, and forgot the foster kitten. But after a while she remembered him.

As Mom moved the first one and fed, bathed, and potted. The other one was lying there quietly. But Mom started taking to herself and the other little one. When there was no answer she thought she had better go check. That was so sweet. She is a good Momma baby was in a safe place.

There wasn't a problem. Adopted kitten was fast asleep so she moved the one that was awake first. She then fed that little one, washed her, and settled her down ... Then she returned for the sleeping kitten. Normal momma behaviour.

The moms probably do just what this mom did which is bring kitten to new location, feed them and groom them so they will be quiet and sleep while they go get others. This could be why sometimes people find kittens that seem like there's no mother cat around. The best thing to do if that happens is not touch or move the kittens, but watch from a distance to see if a mother cat comes back to where the kitties are hidden.
