Hello my dеar friends, my name is Irina. I live in Chita in Zabaikalskiy region of Russia. My English teacher is a friend of Michael Shipley . He moved to Russia from America many years ago. In 1997 Michael brought a cassete with a movie "Charlotte's Web" from USA. My teacher started to use this movie on her lessons in school with her students. This way young citizens of Zabaikalye, that were studying English met and loved the characters of this story. The movie and songs are really great, and our kids like them as much as yours do. :)

Every single often time I feel sad, I watch this movie and then I remember that I am still alive and that there is hope for us. Charlotte passed away, but Wilbur survived. She somehow fulfilled her duty as a friend and did not break her promise. Gosh, I wish I had a friend like that brilliant spider.

Coming here a year later to say o put this on (for myself, I have no children other than cats) because my bf had never watched this. I started sobbing during this song, he was so confused and worried. “This isn’t even a sad scene! Why are you crying? What is going to happen? They were gonna kill the pig in the beginning, they’re not gonna kill the pig right?” 😂

@@luisaponvert1797 actually, some do, some don’t… some spiders can live for years; some that only live a short while can lay several egg pouches and watch over their younglings (wolf spiders are great moms). But this moment in the movie always gets me. And that Debbie passed right after her daughter just gets me…

Just a few weeks ago I found out a woman I was very close to at one time had cancer. I contacted her to wish her the best and to let her know how I was there for her. She contacted me back and told me that she was losing strength fast and would no longer be able to talk to me. We said our final goodbyes and she passed away in her son's arms a week later. But when I got her message this song was playing in my head. Rest in Peace my friend Tanya till we meet again.

@@adrasteia3866 you say that as if some parents stop singing to their children. Especially giving the type of relationship displayed by them. What you're saying holds merit, but you don't know any more than I do. Debbie being a singer as well could have sung this, as most singers may tend to serenade their family. They both were singers, and having performed together I'm positive something like adulthood didn't stop one or the other from singing to the other at times.

One of the Shermans' most beautiful and subtle bits of lyric writing comes in the reprise of this song when Charlotte passes away - they switch the order of the words and end it with the 'for just a moment' part. Such a little thing that adds another level of meaning to the song.

I learned gratitude at an early age actually from this song. What Wilbur felt I felt it just as intense man. I felt Charlottes impending death when I was 5 in the early nineties. Made me thankful to be part of life even if it’s for a second. In my older years I didn’t understand why at times I had this almost no fear of death and no panic. I always felt grateful and I refuse to ever feel entitled. Thank you for creating me and thank you for allowing me to view life even for a few moments

How very special are we, indeed. Listening to this song makes me realize just how precious life truly is, and how beautiful it is. Though life is short, it's the sweetest gift God can give, and we all take it for granted. All the beauty in the world is overlooked, and man has become ungrateful for all God has blessed this world with. This song is a very sweet way of showing thanks for this life and this world, and Debbie Reynolds' voice itself reflects the appreciation we should all have for God's great gift.

Sadly in October of 2011 My father passed away, and then on Valentine’s Day of 2015 my mother passed away with a smile on her face... 🥺 I interpreted her death as a sign that my dad wanted an eternal date & dance w/his favorite girl by him in Heaven. So I put together a compilation of pictures to this song in honor of my parents and their eternal love for us and one another.... Till this day I sob like a baby to this song and movie.... 🥺😭 I Love You Papi & Mami May You Both Rest In Eternal Love & Light Always Dancing Your Dance Of Everlasting Romance, My Beautiful Mother Earth & Father Time.... 🥺😪 💕🕯🕊🙏🏼😥😪😞😔

This song feels like an old family lullaby that's been around for what seems like forever. It reminds me of a mother singing this to her child as they grow up, until it's the last thing they sing together. The child passes that song onto their children and they do the same. It's so sweet and gentle, like being held in your mother's arms after having a nightmare. If you love this song, may I reccomend Come Into My Arms by November Ultra?

I played this song while putting my furbaby cat Cloudy to rest. I hope it was claiming for her. Godspeed to those that lose a furbaby or Furfamily member. It is hard but remember they are at peace. If they brought you many years of happiness, then their lost will be hard. Don't feel guilty for crying or being so messed up. Think about it. Every day they run to greet you, comfort you, they offer conditional love to you and you offer unconditional love to them. So it is hard to say goodbye to someone so loyal and trustworthy. My eyes hurt from crying so much. I am so thankful for this song. I remember hearing it this as a child and feeling for Wilbur. I love this movie. I will make sure my children watch it. I will just have to try to keep it together when this song plays.

I grew up on a ranch as a small child and we had lots of animals so sometimes one would pass away and my mom got me this movie to help me understand what was happening because the idea of death scared me so much once she explained it, I was only 3. This song brought me to tears hearing it again after many years and suffering so much loss of loved ones. Thank you for posting something so special to so many people! may this song continue to invoke love and appreciation for life and time with each other on this beautiful planet.

Thanks for posting this... I had forgotten how much I loved this movie . But tonight this song came to me, and as I sang it to my elderly dog, she was finally able to fall asleep. I love what Charlotte says to Wilber about friendship at the end. The world would be a better place if we could remember this.
