What I love about Gothel is that you can do a lot of planning ahead for her, but if you reach a snag, you can still prevent disaster, but you slow down. Her deck is a lot of fun. Unlike other decks where it kind of feels like you hit a lull where nothing is happening at all, you always feel like you're doing something. And hitting a combo as her feels so good. Overall, this might be one of the most fun decks to play but it's challenging. You have to manage a lot

I agree completely! It takes a lot to learn her deck. And fully understanding every single card in her deck and using that knowledge is very time consuming. But being able to deal with any situation by understanding everything makes all that work worth it!

Really glad you made this vid man. Wife and me discovered this game and became instantly obsessed, went out and bought all the expansions. Tangled is my fav movie, but I have yet to win with her deck. Good stuff.

Yes, I’ll most likely upload a new video, that explains my reasonings (for only the three new ones) and show their ranking with the other villains. And I’ll reference the older video, because I don’t think deleting and reuploading with just three new villains is worth the work. I’ll probably just pin a comment to the older video to say that there’s a new ranking for the new expansion. I’ll have to think about it some more, but yes, I will be updating it!

Same here! Also I say this at the end, but don’t expect anything on the new expansion for a week to two (at least) after the expansion comes out so I can play it and build my strategies and opinions

What are your thoughts on Villainous as a 2-player game? At what player count do you think it works best?

To me, It works completely fine at a 2 player game, that’s how I play it a lot of times. I think it causes more strategy, as you are fated a lot more than normal, and it can cause a lot of interesting scenarios between two villains. But it works best as a 3 player game to me. It has a good setup for 3 players, the rules technically state the fate token shouldn’t be used in a 2 or 3 player game, but we use it for 3 players. This tends to cause games to move quicker, and it still provides a lot of teaming up and planning (e.g. hey Bobby fate me so I can fate Timmy), if one person is closer to winning than the others. Also just that the game flows more with 3 players, and 4-6 players take longer and it often feels like a while has passed before you get your turn again. To be honest I have the most fun with 3 players, but I like the 1v1 games too they are more strategic cause you can be fated every turn essentially. With 3 players you spend a lot more time hanging out and talking about the game, and 4+ players see the group kinda bored just wanting it to be over (in my experience). So yeah, that’s my long winded explanation on this question. 2 player is great, but I have more fun at 3 players. Anything more than that is longer and less interesting (in my humble opinion) Love the question! Thanks for asking :)
