Achilles Heel is useful because it allows you to vanquish Zues, Hera and Hercules with Hydra, and these three are the three worst heroes to deal with. It is basically an alternative to Mortality potion.

I love this because everyone has ranked them differently! For example I have seen Hook often as easy, but I played against Prince John as Capt Hook my very first time playing against another first timer, and Peter Pan WAS AT THE BOTTOM OF MY DECK. And I kept drawing conditions and allies I didn’t think I needed yet! Granted this was our first time playing, so the fate and discard usage was not up to par, nor was setting up my allies properly, but Prince John won the turn after I drew out Pan. It wasn’t that it was hard per se, but I just spent so much time drawing Pan out that I didn’t Fate Prince John barely at all, and lost miserably 🤣 AND went I was Fated, I was given Tick Tock on the Jolly Roger, followed by Lost Boys, Followed by TAUNT on the Lost Boys, which having only played as Hook once, I gather was a pretty awful shuffle my way 🤣

I find it annoying that the starter pack has 4 super fast villains and then Jafar and Ursula. Both villains have to find two specific cards in their deck before they do anything which makes them luck reliant. Jafar in particular is so much harder than any other villain in the starter pack, because if the scarab is at the bottom of your deck you're going to be so far behind. At least ursula doesn't have to play the crown or trident in a specific order like Jafar does with Scarab and Lamp. My friend and I played 1v1 with each other for a couple hours. I played Jafar, played first and had scarab pendant, magic lamp, the staff, and hypnotize in my opening hand, and quickly drew into Iago. My friend was playing maleficent and didn't fate me once...and he still won easily. Even with Ideal draws and no fate interference, Jafar is just soooooooo slow!

We find Hades so easy we just changed his win condition to 5 titans on Olympus instead of the 3 🙃

I almost won my first game playing with Scar. I had 13 in the succession pile, but my wife constantly plays Maleficent and beat me by two turns. I got super lucky my first turn because my first draw from the date deck was Mufasa.

actually for Outrage there is some villains its weak against Captain hook/Fracilier/Price john/scar can just place the allys without moving them for the kill hades/Maleficent they will be more likely to move the curse or titans and they don't trigger this Gaston he literally has no move actions there's only 2 cards in his deck that do that Evil queen is the one you always discard to because she can't move allys and items the only way to trigger it is if she moves a hero holding a pick axe or wishing well ps and knocked silly this is where your parrots is the savior because it gets atleast one back

this is very good you definitely right on this nose on just play "Ancient soldiers" willy nilly since nothing gets rid of those also you definitely got it right on "fair folk" it doesn't say anything on moved there and Morva is probably the best place to place cauldron born number 1 I might have some additional tips 1. now "gurgi" can't be discard by a vanquish but there's a really tricky thing and that's if you use "We got you now pig keeper" that won't cause him to shuffle because thats not a vanquish action its a play action and rules clarifications on the fandom wiki confirms this. 2. i feel its ok to discard Cauldron born during the build up of ancient soldiers phase because I feel it not a good idea to flip till there's at least 3 and once you built up enough you can just use "we made a bargain" to put them back 3. using "captured" it might actually be a good idea to use it where a discard action is because you can discard cards you don't need then draw even more to dig for those ancient soldiers/Cauldron born 4. "visons" vast majority of the time you usually want your board clear so usually plus like you said a cauldron born will go to town on fair folk kingdom so usually you should discard unless you can't vanquish much for the moment 5. you might also want "Morva" and the "dugeon" clear as well for those play card actions if the 2 main so your non cauldron born allys and "we got you now pig keeper" might be a use to keep them empty 6."we are moments away from victory" its discard fodder if no soldiers are in hand since you really need to dig for them. and like mentioned do not hold on if most of the players are using Gaston/Maleficent/Yzma/Queen of hearts/scar (heck scar has 0 items) 7. i think you should bid your time for "Fflewddur Fflam" to pop out before you play cauldron born number 3 because on your next turn after that effect you but the next cauldron born then move one back to its original spot this can be done in "throne room" also don't kill him until both "reunited" are in the discard pile "visions" shines for this in fair folk kingdom with at least 4-5 power gain

I think you got Suttle's ability wrong. He can take items from the Fate discard pile, like Snarfblat or Dinglehopper.

I think that you need atleast 3 cards in the fortune pile to play the cards will tell. Acording to this: "If a Villain Effect text does not read "you may" the action is required in order to play the card, the card cannot be played if all the actions in the text cannot be performed." So he cant win as you metion.

So all the games could be mixed? Like i have the Green Box. Could i mix characters from the Red Box with those.

In order to learn how to play this game properly, to find the optimal way to win, I played as each villain with the whole deck "in my hand" so to speak. Access to all cards. This allowed me to focus on optimizing exactly what moves I needed to make to win as quickly as possible. Yzma for example can win on turn 3, which is nuts. Malificent can have 4 curses out on turn 3 and win on turn 4. For Yzma, you just mill your deck until you get the card that reveals everything in one of her fate decks, and just discard EVERYTHING except Kronk, the dagger, and a single copy of "After them", trying to get those reveal fate deck cards. Or you can risk it and just play After Them without knowing if Kuzco is there or not. 25% chance, or 33% chance, or 50% chance depending on how many fate decks you've already revealed. Just discard literally everything else because none of it matters. Only hitting the objective matters. This may sound crazy, but what it does is teach you which cards are actually important and which ones aren't. Some villains have their whole decks made up of fluff you don't need and shouldn't use. Your goal is to complete your villain objective only, nothing else matters. Prince John for example, your goal is to start your turn with 20 power. You don't need the majority of the cards in his deck, just move between his 3 power space and his 2 power space back and forth and don't spend any money. The 3 power space is on the bottom and can't be blocked, but his 2 power space is on top and can be, so you just use a different space for money until you get Sir Hiss. Playing him to your 2 power spot lets you grab that 2 power as if it weren't blocked, so it doesn't matter how many heroes pile up. The only heroes that actually hurt you are King Richard, because he prevents you from using effects, and Robin Hood because he reduces the power you gain each turn. But even then, neither of them are generally worth killing. Because each of them have 5 strength, it will cost you a minimum of 6 power to kill either one them and more realistically it'll cost you 7 power to do so. So in order to justify killing Robin Hood, you would have to be more than 8 turns away from winning before he siphoned enough power from you to outweigh what it costs to get rid of him and that just isn't going to happen unless he is the first first fate card played against you in the game. And King Richard only really sucks because you can't play Beautiful Lovely Taxes, that is literally the only downside to his existence, so it slows you down only slightly. But you can win insanely fast with John just by not wasting money on nonsense you don't need. Never play warrants, they're a waste of money. Never play imprison, it is a waste of money. Play the Sheriff ONLY if you know he will generate 4 power or more before the game ends. He costs 3 to play, and can only generate 1 extra per turn. If you only have 1 hero on the board, so counting the turn you play him on, the game would have to last an additional 8 turns to justify his cost if you had just one hero in your realm and obviously you shouldn't play him if there are no heroes. If there are 2 heroes, you can generate his cost back in just 4 additional turns, 5 counting the one you play him on. Sir Hiss should always be kept in hand and only played if your location with 2 power has a hero applied, then he immediately pays for himself on the first turn you benefit from him. The only time you should EVER play allies is if have had Steal From The Rich played against you a lot and one of them has enough power stored on them to justify killing them so you can reap the rewards. The Vanquish tile only has 1 power gain on it, as opposed to the 2 and 3 power gain locations you should be alternating between, which means you have an additional 1 power opportunity-cost to vanquishing in addition to whatever it costs to play the ally cards to perform the vanquish. Typically, for me, what ends up happening is that i'll vanquish the hero with the most power stored on them when doing so would get my power to 20+. I almost always have Hiss and the Sheriff in play as the only allies (as they're the only ones worth playing 99% of the time), and together they are beefy enough to kill any hero. Always hold onto Hiss in case you need him, always play Beautiful Lovely Taxes as soon as you get the card, always hold onto Greed because it'll go off in basically every game, and just discard everything else. The Golden Arrow is great to put on The Sheriff if he is in play, or Sir Hiss if he is in play and the sheriff is not, because it costs 0 to play and might come in handy for the extra 2 power at some point for a vanquish win at the end. Getting fated actually helps you rather than hurts you, because more heroes = more taxes, and them stashing some of your money on heroes doesn't matter because you generate money so quickly anyway an you can kill them to win if there gets to be enough of them. With just 1 hero played against you (as long as it isn't robin hood) and perfect card Draw, John can hit 20 power on turn 5. Really the ONLY thing that can mess him up is getting Robin Hood played on his 2-power location on the first turn because it's unlikely he has Sir Hiss yet. But most people that play John don't seem to realize they're wasting all their own money playing junk cards and end up spending more than it takes to win before the game is over.

Once a card is activated, it gets discarded or does it stay on the board?

My wife just purchased this for us and my daughter wanted me to play lady Tremaine. This was our first try at this game and we were so confused playing this game. It’s so easy for us to lose track of what’s going on with multiple fate cards on the board.

My family got the big villainous box first I think it was like 3 days before Christmas because there's like a week where we're basically doing nothing and then under the Christmas tree there was the expansion and I think the expansion was called wicked to the core something like that it had in the box evil queen, Hades and Dr facilier . And then when my birthday rolls around we ended up getting the expansion with cruella deville, Pete and mother gothel fast forwarding a bit to I think like August or September we were walking around a game store and I saw the villainous that has Lady Tremaine Gaston and the black cauldron villain in it so I would recommend getting all of them But a little bit of a disclaimer I've not played the one with scar on the cover of the box

U absolutely need to use swoon to gain +3 power. Especially early game. One of the best things to have is open up with swoon + Beautiful As Me. (Goin 2nd). I will definitely use Swoon to gain +3 & replace that obstacle on my 1st turn 💯 (assumin my opponent uses all 4 actions on there 1st turn) if not then ill just discard them both. Also it depends on who i am playing against 👌🏾💯

why is the sound so low? I even turn up my volume to max where I would be getting noise complaints about the average youtube video from a couple blocks away and it's still not very loud

He feels below average and really slow in my opinion at least his fates are easy except sacrifice.

Show me the beast does have a VERY fringe benefit if both are in play. You can essentially move an Obstical, most useful to get more benefit off Maurice or Beast if they happen to show up with their location obsticle free for some reason.

I personally play Robes even if I can break even. Just in case. Had a game the other day I did that and then didn't end up using it until the very end when it clutched me the last power needed to give Felicia the Uniform to finish off Basil. So really, if you activate the rives at least once it's not really HURTING you to play it if you have nothing else.

Well in instead of a 10 sided dice people could use a 6 sided dice(pretty sure almost everyone has at least 1) probably go 1-2 fated 3-6 not fated or an even split 1-3 fated 4-6 not fated Edit: just for people that don’t have a D10 and prefer to physically roll a dice use whatever you have but make it 30-40% fated 60-70% not fated(or 50-50)

when i was playing Prince John yesterday (4 players) i found it kinda hard to gain those needed power to win if noone fates you since you can't fate yourself whatsoever (like e.g. Scar can), but there are some cards that give you profit if a hero is (played) in your realm (e.g. taxes, Sherrif from Nottingham, Golden Arrow, Warrant...) and if a hero never comes to play those cards will remain useless...
