@michellecrosby3717 She's a genius, not autism. My son didn't talk until he was almost 5. I took him to the doctor. My doctor said there was nothing wrong with him. So I worked with my son for a year until one day he just started talking and we had entire conversations. When he entered kindergarten his teacher asked to test him because he was gifted and talented. The test results were as if he was in the 3rd grade. In the 3rd grade he tested 9th grade level. They wanted to put him with 9th graders but I said no. He maybe smart but my 9 year old son was not emotionally mature enough to be with 14 and 15 year old students so I made him go through school board out of his mind. When he was 14 he was teaching algebra in his math class. The teacher allowed him to teach the class and he loved it. He is a gifted musician and can play many instruments but drumming is his main gift. He is 43 years old, has become a pilot and is teaching seniors in a high school to become pilots. He has an amazing wife and they have 7 kids. His wife is a principle at a high school. They work hard as a family. Ludwig van Beethoven didn't talk until he was 5 years old. They thought he was deaf and mute but he was a genius! So, I believe this little girl should have her IQ tested. She's a genius.

Its cute no matter what but y’all can’t tell me mom can’t hear her daughter talking. Whats up with that? Is she purposefully not turning around as to not startle her? Cause if i heard my non verbal kid talking, imma turn around, unless i realized she was making a video. What do u do in that situation. Do you continue to act as if nothing happened or do you praise and reinforce the good behavior? Bringing attention to it could cause her to withdraw and not talk some more

I did a drama class in my late 50s. There was a 19 year old boy. Brilliant. Who only spoke when he was performing. He was brilliant. Not many wanted to work with him. I fear they thought it might make them look bad. Or didn't have patience . I found him so intelligent. Just didn't speak. We did a few pieces together over the course. In front of audiences. At the end his mom came and thanked me. Why I don't know as I really was the one who benefitted. He never forgot his lines. Or mine. And was so comedic. My point is his mom said the only time she has ever heard her sons voice was at the drama class show nights. It was a privilege to work with him. May I suggest you enrole your grandson in a drama course. They do classes for the very young. It's worth a try. This boy had some kind of mutism. But that was his only problem. Believe me he more than made up for lack of speach with his intellect and talent. He did open up a couple of times when I asked a question. My hope is they can get help. They must have been so proud. Hearing the laughter and applause. The audience had no idea of his problem. Your grandson will have some talent like art music. Try everything. And good luck.

@@jondra1693 autism very commonly causes a non verbal childhood. Its probably not severe autism like people think of when they think of autism. Autism spectrum. I am on the spectrum but I was verbal as a child. I am high functioning autism spectrum. Social situations are tough and full of anxiety, but my logical capabilities are far superior to most people. It was very interesting to learn why I've always been different, how my brain ticks differently. My dad scolded me and said "if you don't talk, then you're gonna be in trouble.' Then "miraculously (not)" I started talking and the 1st thing I said was 'i'm sorry.' I think some children are just spoiled by their parents and baby their children too much. Such a wimp world we live in. How come there was no 'autism' in the past?

Thanks for making me ugly cry. I have a daughter on the autism spectrum and, although shes always been verbal, she struggles in many other areas. Just hearing this precious child recording a message for her mom on her phone pulled up all the feels. Watching your child struggle and be met with great difficulty throughout childhood and them see them overcome something is a MAJOR accomplishment that means the world. This is beautiful.

As a Mom of young man on the Spectrum in his 20's, that has had many struggles as well, I have to say that momma you're going to continue to cry those tears of joy for the rest of your life. Trust me those ugly cries will be captured, lol, but you will have that pride and joy to share with others. Enjoy it, cherish it, make sure you tell her you're proud of her every single day. You're both on an incredible journey. Like we've told many over the years, we may have taught him what he has needed and will continue to, but it's our son that will continue to teach us and many others for years to come, and your daughter will do the same. We've raised our superhero just as you're doing!!🫶💞💙😊

A neighbor of mine had a son who was non verbal autistic. I lived next to them for 3 years, he was 18 to 20. He was in his own world and very content. At first I felt bad and thought what a terrible existence but I quickly changed my mind! He had a smile 24/7, he interacted with you when he wanted, he liked his alone time, he loved being outdoors and walking the neighborhood/hiking. He was able to communicate with his mom easily. He loved chiken fingers and broccoli. He loved those 1000 peice puzzles. Never again will I assume people like him arent "living life" He was living his best life to the best of his abilities ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Can I please inquire what may have happened to him? Not trying to pry or be nosey & I know it isn't my business, but the reason I was curious was because I've seen a few people on here who have said their non verbal child or autistic child passed away young or suddenly & I was curious if there was a common ailment people who have autism might suffer from that I didn't know about? I'm also on the spectrum myself. I'm so sorry about your brother. That's so tragic for your whole family. 😢
@jackdurden4663 ай бұрын
@@toxic_city no it’s ok, he loved to swim. We had a pool and I eventually figured that it may be the closest thing to a sensory deprivation chamber for him and gave him the sensation of floating (while actually floating) and one night he snuck out of the house, by unlocking the front door of its head high extra lock, and went for a swim obviously without any type of flotation device. He drowned in the middle of the night. What’s the really messed up part is that he used a chair to reach the high up lock on the door, which at age 7 I would often do also. When I was about 26-27 my mother actually blamed me for his death saying that he’d learned that from me and it was MY fault for what happened. When there should have been an outside lock on his door. She’s never been able to take any responsibility for anything and has always blamed me. Aside from that tidbit, no it wasn’t any sort of additional disability, it was just his sheer love for water. And they often say that many autistic person and children, have their senses dialed up to 11, so sounds, touch, etc are far more intense than for anyone else and that’s why I have the theory of sensory deprivation, it took away so much of the intense feeling that it was almost addictive. God Bless him, I know I’ll see him again. 🙏
