He had a huge team of medics including veterinarians and human surgeons from various local hospitals, in a pioneering surgery, the first of its kind performed on an orangutan! They are an exceptionally talented team and Blackpool Zoo has done a magnificent job in coordinating his treatment and care ! He is doing well post surgery and mom Jingga was being especially attentive to him! Later in the day, he was kicking his little legs around and climbing up mesh walls ! more update videos to follow shortly on the channel ! Thanks for watching and commenting ! 🦧🧡

I’m thrilled that jarang had his surgery and he’s recovery well. Mama is taking care of her little one so well like she always has. Every time some would make remarks about how bad a mother she was always upset me. Well what will they think of now? I pray for a speedy recovery for our little guy and pray him and his mama has lots of fun happy times together.

O how wonderful to see him after surgery. There is a notable change in them both. Mom is more loving holding him close to her chest. He is more relaxed and gripping and holding on to mom. As was said she may have believed she had lost him. Maybe she didn't hold him close because she knew something was wrong with him, so she didn't want to hurt him but unknowingly she did cause him some pain. Now she knows he is better and he needs her love and support to get better so they can bond more. She has gown up higher up as to protect him. Many prayers for them both as he heals and they both heal mentally, emotionally and physically!❤

She's such an incredible mama! 🥰 It does seen like she's bit thrilled to be on display right now. I wonder if keeping them behind the scenes for a couple weeks might be better for her metal health. I'm sure ha ing her baby taken must have been scary. Even for such an important health reason, she doesn't know that. But I also understand the zoo has their reasons for what they do. But once again for the Jingga haters, WE TOLD YOU SHE LOVES HER BABY! Maybe now you'll stop looking for reasons to criticize and complain 😊
5 күн бұрын
That is not a very nice comment. I have never encountered a “Jingga-hater”among the group who watch Ape tracker videos. It is very obvious she loves him and…she swung him around by his arms and dragged him along the ground … and that was very concerning to viewers here.

@faeriefire99
@faeriefire99 5 күн бұрын
Let me add this, the amount of viewers on all channels involving primates who expect and are upset that animals don't follow human expectations, morals, and priorities is staggering. O this channel, I haven't seen a video with Jarang where people didn't not just complain about Jingga, but outright say she abused, neglected, didn't care about, hated, and on and on Jarang. If any of those things were true, she would have simply walked away. How do I know this? Because it happens. In every single primate species. Usually there is something wrong with either the baby or the bonding. Occasionally, they don't know why. But it happens none the less. That she didn't abandon her baby AND he definitely has issues is truly amazing. How she has found ways to take care of him is nothing short of miraculous. Yet every single video, haters come crawling out of the woodwork. Some are monkey haters that live to hate all primates. Most are just ignorant to primates. And I don't mean ignorant as an insult. It's the same way I'm ignorant to how most mechanics work, advanced understanding of computer technology, and 99% of knowledge in the world. What I do know, I have either studied academically or with independent study of experts. Which is why I'm confident about Jingga's mothering. I'm basing off what the experts say. Not people who want her to treat him how they think she should.

@faeriefire99 Thank you for this! I've seen the haters' comments as well, and it's obvious that most of them are very uninformed about great ape and their behavior. Jingga has done her very best by this precious little boy, despite his issues. I'm so glad the zoo didn't give up on little Jarang, like some European zoos have done with far less reason to!

His lower limbs already seem more mobile and strong. The biggest reason he couldn't ride her normally is because of his lower limbs just dangling and him not having the strength in the lower limbs to wrap around her midsection properly. It appears he is more able to use those lower legs better already. I am so happy to see this after the disappointment of his first surgery not being very successful. I really didn't have the expectation of the second surgery being quite this successful, but glad it seems to have gone much better than the first. Thanks for the update.

Ape Tracker, this is the best news ever - thank you SO much for sharing. 🙏😍 Orangutans have the longest “childhood” of any species apart from humans and the bond between mother and baby is essential to the wellbeing of both. You can see that so clearly here - Jingga and Jarang were only separated for a few hours, but it has obviously affected them both. Happily, it was for a good reason - Jarang’s little nether parts already look so much better without that huge hernia.❤ Jingga is not letting her precious boy out of her sight for anything now he’s back safe and sound in her arms❣️Hopefully our sweet little man will be able to move more freely now! Even if he still has some neurological/motor control issues, he won’t have those big lumps getting in his way. 🤩👏😍❣️

This is great news! I don’t think that many viewers understand that Jarang’s health and survival are extremely important to worldwide Orangutan conservation efforts. Zoo visitors are not aware of the many facets of care that Orangutans receive every single day because it happens behind the scenes. There has been so much assumption about Jarang’s needs, best interests and his presumed neglect by his mother, yet none of us have any idea how much conversation, care and planning have been in the works since Jarang’s issues surfaced. Jinga looks a bit traumatised i think. How long before this video had the operation been done because sitting up high where she is will stop any humans for stealing her baby that's for sure! Some people think/thought she didn't care, others said she was adapting to his problems, I was on the fence, I admit. I thought she loved him but didn't think she was so clever as to adapt the way she held him because of his hernia. I thought it was just her way! think I have been proven wrong, she is definitely aware of his operation sight. I just wish she didn't plonk him on her head when so high up! That's because it almost gives me a heart attack. I get sweaty thinking about standing on a very high pole!! I know she knows what she is doing and being high is natural. He is such a cute little guy who I have still not visited!!!

I don't know the exact date of the operation, however Blackpool zoo has issued a statement, which can be seen on Ape Tracker community page on the Jarang update post www.youtube.com/@ApeTracker1/community which sates his operation was in November, this video was recorded in December so, a few weeks at least has past post surgery She was possibly aware of the others in the group and determined that she needed to be more attentive of him on this occasion, but they are highly intelligent animals, and are aware of much more that we realise. Jarang does have a strong grip. Later in the day he was climbing up mesh walls, Jingga wasn't letting him get too high ! but it wasn't easy to get him off the mesh as he had such a tight grip of it! Thanks for watching, have a great weekend ! 🦧🧡

How did they get the baby away from her, so he could have the surgury?
@ApeTracker1
@ApeTracker1 5 күн бұрын
They usually spend time, training them in preparation for the surgery, so it is not a traumatic experience If the animals can be reunited soon after surgery, sometimes the mothers can be sedated or distracted during the surgery and recovery

Is this the final surgery or will there be one on the right side in the future?

The zoo has stated that the surgery was successful, so no future surgery has been mentioned More update videos to follow shortly, in some of these, the improvements in his groin area can clearly be seen Thanks for watching and commenting, have a great weekend 🦧🥰

What a terrible mom. Her kid just had surgery and she is hanging upside down putting him in danger. They need to be separated. Maybe one of the other females can raise Jarang that way Jinnga can watch and learn. 🤣. I'm joking. Jinnga is an amazing mother with a rough situation that she can't deal with due to it being medical in nature. While she has her moments, the look of love as she is hugging him ❤️. Then she wears him like a hat. 👻 I love these two. And I will always defend Jinnga as being a terrific mother under the circumstances she has faced.

It was probably caused by the unsafe way she carries him with her foot banging him off everything and pulling on him.

They are captive in a flipping zoo. Your statement makes no sense. If she needs privacy, she is smart enough to figure it out and go to a secluded part of the enclosure. It’s not like they are in the wild and she can go away from the people. They will be there whether they film her or not. 🤦

This wasn't filmed immediately after the surgery, they have had time to rehabilitate before being gradually reintegrated with the rest of the group She wasn't exhibiting any unusual or nervous behaviours, but was being protective of him from the rest of the group and were on view for all visitors
