The acting is better and the writing is far darker than any recent SNL. John Larroquette is on point. It's hard to imagine a host blending into the cast as well as he is. They took pride in their craft. Much different than skits where it's obvious the actors are reading off cue cards.

I had to hear the voice for a bit to realize that was Phil Hartman, that makeup is extremely well done. Much better than the normal drag type, more realistic, movie quality. I still miss Phil Hartman, he had a special place in the humor part of my heart. ❤

she slowly dropped out of sight by her choice, she was offered many things and turned them down, became a recluse in Woodstock NY, was a heavy smoker and drank a lot, had leukemia then throat cancer died at 57, very sad end for an incredible talented comic actress, miss her a lot

go to Facebook, look up Towers High School in Decatur GA, they have a page for the their alumni in 60s-70s--many of Jan's classmates posted sweet and kind words about her--she was loved by her peers and that says a lot about who she was, she was there until 1974, imagine people giving you compliments over 40 yrs. later after high school--she was an amazing person--kind, sweet, and thoughtful, funny-she cannot be replaced

@@CUStudioFilms you are right about her issues, Kevin Nealon said he would stay up with after SNL was done to calm her down, her problem was treatable, but she smoked and drank later to handle it -- not good, she is terribly missed - she did seek privacy and solitude a lot, she did not like fame or being a celebrity -- after all the research I've done on her my conclusion is: her talent gave her a career in show biz, sadly it turned out to be a hard landing, she endured her career but didn't like it much, and left it early by her own choice, I think she would have been much happier and still alive had she chosen another career path, we both came from the same era the 70s and it took courage to do what she did, I tried acting and auditions 20 yrs. ago in my 40s, it is very hard to endure rejections and all the work to become an actor, I left and have no regrets

Remember watching this with my wife. We were just thirty-three days from settlement on our new home. Boxes lined the living room of the furnished apartment we'd rented for eight months. In memory I can see the flickering light of the TV playing on my wife's as she laughed over this sketch.
