There shouldn’t be any extraordinary ministers at all. They are not consecrated priests! I refuse to receive from them at all. It’s total sacrilege.

Agree with you 100% Mother Miriam. Our Lord Jesus Christ instituted The Holy Eucharist. 1Cor.11:23-29, Jn.6:29-69 It should only be handled be Priests because their hands have been consecrated and should ONLY be received on the tongue.

@@MikeM-cz5ln YOU are free to call Jesus "IT" if you feel like, but it shows the type of relationship you have with Him .. sad... remember Jesus called the bread "it" not His Body.... the moment He said "... for this is My Body..." Thats when "It" became His Body.

I admit i jump lines for Holy Communion at Holy mass to avoid receiving from a lay person. I only receive communion from a priest.

When we went on pilgrimage to the Holy Land, the priest placed the ciborium and chalice on the altar and told us to get the Sacred Host and dip the Host into the chalice. I was horrified!

Before you find another church go to that priest and tell him why he is wrong for doing what he did. Also write a letter to the bishop and copy him. Even if the bishop doesn't do anything you've got a document stating that you did what you could to correct the situation. And you never know if enough people would do that then we might see some changes.

Pray for more priests. I am an extraordinary minister and would dearly love to be "put out of business". But I am torn. If I don't bring Holy Communion to about 20 shut-ins at senior living facilities, no one will. They appreciate me, many with tears in their eyes and are incredibly thankful. I pray God will not punish me for this sevice to the elderly and infirmed.

Don't be torn. God will provide. My mother is a shut-in and I will only have a priest to bring her communion. The priest that brings her communion drives an hour and a half each way to come about once a month. Please stop being an extraordinary Minister which is a complete misnomer to begin with. You do not have consecrated hands to touch the most precious body and blood of Our Lord. If you stop doing it then the priests will have to step up to the plate.

A lay person and even a Permanent Deacon (neither have concerted hands) should not be touching the precious body or the sacred vessels, its profanation. The 1977 indult for communion in the hand was promulgated by a lie and should be stopped. Just because the counterfeit church says it’s okay doesn’t mean it is good. The counterfeit church also approves of same-sex blessings, communion for the divorced shacking up with a new bed buddy, altar girls and laypeople to give homilies.

People like to play "new tradition" with the Blessed Sacrament. In in the Catholuc Churcht hese acts are wrong and I think the word wad Eucharistic Minister that have taken the Church in great numbers. I may not understand, but this seems to be another religion, maybe Methodist?

people receive the host in their hand, not take the host. Protestants "Take", we "receive". You arent making any changes by not going to church orher than losing your soul. Just change to the Latin Mass.

My dear if this is happening the host has not been consecrated!!! Find out who the priest is that did the Mass, make sure he was ordained in the old or new rite (novas Ordos). If after Vatican 2 then the host is not consecrated at all so no worry.
