That's so beautiful. Is it song lyrics? A poem?
@benlyman1157 жыл бұрын
Not sure about the first 2/3 of the song but I think the last bit might reveal what the song is about. It's about the world being such a terrible place once you really open your eyes and look at it objectively. There are people starving and dying all over the world. The environment is being destroyed. A tiny percentage of people hold the majority of the world's wealth. The list goes on and on. Now, you could be "happy" if you just ignored all of this pain, suffering, evil, etc, but then you would be "in the dark." The speaker says that people who choose to live this way are "faint of heart" because they can't or don't want to see the truth. Finally, the speaker offers to "leave you with an itty bitty hole" "if you give me your eye." If you choose to see the true state of the world that the speaker wants to show you, you will be left with the burden of knowing, hence less happy. However, you can always look away and probably forget after a while, but the speaker has accepted the truth for a while and doesn't have the ability and/or the desire to forget the truth. This explains why the hole you would be left with is "nothing like the one inside [the speaker's] soul."

And you'll find someone new someone who cares about you and loves you enough through thick and thin and doesn't care if you like these kind of songs and I doubt that they'll broken up with you for a stupid reason like your ex-boyfriend did, so don't think you have to change your self to get someone to love you, there will always be someone who cares about you.

lyrics: Ask me if I’m happy I don’t know If it is a place we need to go Ask me if I’m happy I don’t care Maybe I’d be happy if you disappeared Maybe I’d be happy if you give me drugs Drugs can make a fuck last all night long 'Cuz nothing makes me happy about getting off Reaching for the saddest little cloth Reaching for the water on the sill Water with the saddest little film Ask me if I’m happy What does it mean? I’ll tell you that I am if you tell me I’m dreaming To wake up in a place I’ve never been Wake up to a face I’ve never seen Wake up with the purest sense of being Yeah to wake up to a woman that isn’t screaming Ask me if I’m happy La la la Happy is a pill for the faint of heart Happy is a place in the dark Yeah, you know it is (Yea-ah-ah) Ask me if I’m happy one more time I’ll give you a reply if you give me your eye I'll leave you with an itty bitty hole Well it’s nothing like the one inside my soul It’s nothing like the canyon of my heart Well at least I got some room to fall apart Yeah, ask me if I’m happy I’ll tell you what Happy is a diamond in the rough Happy it ain’t enough Ain't enough Ain't enough Yeah, you know it ain’t

Ask me if I'm happy . I don't know , If it is a place we need to go. Ask me if I'm happy . I don't care . Maybe I'd be happy if you disappeared . Maybe I'd be happy if you give me drugs . Drugs can make fuck last all night long . Cause nothing makes me happy about getting off Reaching for the saddest little cloth . Reaching for the water on the silk . Water with the saddest little filth . Ask me if I'm happy . What does it mean? I'll tell you that I am if you tell me I'm dreamin '. To wake up in a place , I'd never been . Wake up with a face , I've never seen . Wake up with , The purest sense of being . Yeah to wake up to a woman , That isn't screamin '. Ask me if I'm happy. Lalala . Happy is a pill for the faint of heart . Happy is a - Place in the dark. In the dark. In the dark. Yeah, you know it is. Yeah yeah yeah ah ahh Yeah yeah yeah Ask me if I'm happy one more time. I give you a reply if you give me your eye. I'll leave you with an itty bitty hole. Well it's nothing like the one inside my soul. It's nothing like the canyon of my heart. Well at least I've got some room to fall apart. You ask me if I'm happy, I'll tell you what, Happy is a diamond in the rust. Happy ain't enough. Ain't enough. Ain't enough. Yeah you know it is.
