This is what I do not understand about these sororities and fraternities. They are supposed be brotherhoods and sisterhoods, yet they mistreat those wanting to be a part. They operate on separating and, in my opinion, discriminating against their own. @corruptionfighter62796 жыл бұрын
I will comment in this manner...WE need these things to STOP, and focus in a different, more positive direction. Additionally, I sincerely hope the mother was NOT a crazy hazer in her day because unfortunately, it is those types of people (and I am not saying she is or was, just hoping not) that hazed when she was active in her younger years but suddenly its an adverse action directly affecting her relation and now wants to scream foul. I always ask people to speak up when adverse actions do not directly affect you or the ones you love because if you stay on the sidelines when it occurs with others or its okay when you are doing it, but now you actually feel the pain, its strikes to a LARGER societal issue as this is just one of those microcosms that are part of the greater systemic issues in our nation.

@@TheBlairWenchProject The question is, why are you in a fraternity? You can't find friends on your own? Or, your daddy is afraid you won't have friends, so he buys you friends via the fraternity? The Greek system is so far outside the norm of society that your baseline for reality is distorted. You serve your community? That's great that your daddy can afford to pay for your schooling and buy your friends, that you actually have time to serve. Most college students aren't so lucky, and have to work while in school, thus, they don't have the luxury of "time" to serve. They don't have chefs and meal plans. They are trying to budget so they can luckily buy peanut butter and bologna to last the month. You can be defensive and offended all you want, but just look at your fraternity brothers and where they came from; their backgrounds. You know I'm right, but your ego and defense mechanism won't allow you to acknowledge it. I had hired fraternity and sorority members in the past, and it always turned out to be a disaster because they are so entitled that the lens that they use to see the world is so distorted from reality, that they fail to be contributors. And since they have traditionally been spoiled and never had to work, it made life harder for all of those they work with. My experience is, they tend to be abrasive, pretentious, condescending, arrogant, and aloof because they grew up in a bubble to far removed from reality, that they create unrealistic expectations. Most of the fraternity members I knew in the work place were even low-key racists...but didn't even realize it because of the bubble they grew up in. That is why I stopped hiring them.

Northwestern, Pitt. College sports and pledging frats and sororities- there’s gonna be a lot of lawsuits coming soon! Just watch. As Ben Crump put it while at NW football atheletes sides, the Me Too moment for college sports has arrived. The same will be the case soon for fraternities and sororities. This Pitt gal likely has PTSD. Boycott all Greek life at Universities till they make a sworn pledge to the University and all members that all hazing will be prevented or else members who do this kicked out immediately!

You're saying the right things. But it's more telling that you are so pressed to let everyone know you are "MADE" in all caps. You clearly don't want anyone to mistake you for "paper" because there is a hierarchy of respect and paper is at the bottom. That's the mentality that will have to change.

They are fully aware! You allow it to happen and then holler “hazing” afterwards! Just drop but don’t ruin it for everyone else!!! As for the Mother, stop it, because you know what goes down!!!

You're insane if you think for one second that its ok for an organization that claims to be a sisterhood to physically harm their pledges. Their supposed to be a family, not some sadist cult hell bent on killing potential new members. Good thing she "ruined it for everybody else " before someone died (yeah, guess what that can happen). Also, believe it or not, not all chapters haze. Every chapter is different, the Mom's chapter, back in the day, might not have hazed their pledges, and if they did it definitely wasn't to this degree. Bottomline, any sorority chapter that puts their pledges well being at risk needs to be shut down immediately. #endhazingnow

No remorse here. I guarantee you they know what they was getting into. But all over sudden you want to act like that they actually Force you against your will and continue do things to you probably consent to that process and couldn't take anymore so out of embarrassment you decide to go to the police stop with the acting. Long story short know what you getting into do your research before you decide to go through a process like that hell that's anything in life

@@BoomBitchBye your emotions is getting to you because you see the mother in tears and that's ok but in order for this to happen both parties have to agree with these actions. You can't play victim after the embarrassment factor settles in. Peace

The point is these sororities and fraternities are putting young people’s lives in danger. They should not be inflicting any type of harm, physically, mentally, emotionally to these students to be a part of an organization. At the end of the day if she had died they would be the ones getting prosecuted. Its disgusting that you’re really here speaking ill of the college student who probably wanted to join this sorority forever and was manipulated into thinking that she could withstand all their abuse just to have a group where she belongs. She is the victim not them.

@Cherry Muse I'm sorry but I'm going to have to respectfully disagree well no I take that back I understand where you coming from because we live in a society where now it's taboo to be an individual so they probably hear that a lot on these campuses

But their national states that it shouldn’t happen period! So why do they still do it? Maybe those ppl hear horror stories and think that it won’t really happen because it isn’t supposed to. They’re gonna keep on and the whole organization will get shut down on a global scale.

So she welcomed it and then cries victim. You are able to tell them no if they are trying to do something you don’t agree with, you can always drop out of the pledging process but she continued with the intake process.
@mochaIluv5 жыл бұрын
I pledged .... It is not welcomed behavior because you don't know what they are going to do. You don't go in thinking they are going to beat you in chip your teeth. You don't go and thinking they are going to risk their University status and freedom just to be abusive. When you pledge you take risks but if someone is beating you black-and-blue and breaking your teeth you are the victim dumb-ass.
@malikaharper235 жыл бұрын
Mochaluv name calling well that’s cute. But I said what I said, she did allow them to beat her she probably didn’t think it would be as bad but to even take part in that she knew she was breaking the rules as well. She was willing to do it because she wanted to be a part that badly.
