Mother of slain Irwin High boy says he had asked for transfer to another school

APRIL 20, 2024: On Friday, Stacy-Ann Dunkley stared blankly as she spoke about her son Raniel Plummer’s request to be transferred from Irwin High School in St James.
That request will never come to fruition as the 15-year-old boy was stabbed and killed by another male student outside the school compound on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Montego Bay Police, Plummer was approached and attacked by a group of students after exiting the grounds of the secondary institution. During the assault, the police said that Plummer was stabbed in the chest by a 14-year-old male student. It is being alleged that the assault was stemming from an earlier altercation.

Daum shame.. Again, This is 10 & 11 yr olds. We are living in AN ERA NEVER SEEN LIKE THIS, these school need to run their school in a completely new way and adjust to the era we are in, HANDLE BIDNESS WITH THESE KIDS & STOP letting CHILDREN RUN THEM & THE SCHOOLS! I watched the video on social media. This young man tried so desperately to get away even when he was thrown to the ground several times and hit with heavy objects, he get up and walked away. When the killer was not satisfied he stabbed him, he kept on walking with his friends by his side holding on to his stomach. I knew then this young man wasn't going to make it. I opt to do a search on google only to discovered he didn't made it. As a parent my heart is broken! I pray God will give the mother strength to carry on for the days, nights, weeks and months ahead. The perpetrator need to be charged, tried and put away like an adult. He determined to killed that day and he carried out his planned. Watching that video was very disturbing, it affected me a great deal. May the deceased rest in peace!

Every school in Jamaica starting from basic, primary and high school should have two policemen one at the gates and one patrolling the school every day this crime needs to stop. These kids are killing each other.
