Kislev getting more stuff is very nice. I've always felt that they were good but just meh at everything. This helps establish their specialties and make them more distinct.

@@ravanpee1325 to be fair, pretty sure 100% of this stuff is supposed to be rural ungol stuff and while some of it might be good (those crossbow soldiers look like they'll be nerfed in the next patch) it all definitely fits the more rural theme

@@ravanpee1325 fair enough, they don't seem to have scrapped it completely but it definitely does seem to have been moved to be a more historical conflict (though there are definitely still hints of it simmering under the surface) with Boris Ursus having reformatted everything to create a more united Kislev only for a new conflict to form between the Orthodoxy and the Ice Court in Boris's absence. considering that Mother Ostankya is very much a Ungol thing, and the trailer set her up fighting other Kislevites, I'd suspect that this DLC might bring that Gospodar vs Ungol conflict back to the forefront a bit more.

@@ravanpee1325 They didnt scrap anything, they moved the story forward. Establish boris bokha as a reformist that creates a uniting force in the orthodoxy, which splits the nation in church and state. now we see those forces woh fully oppose the orthodoxy- the hags, who represent a purely rural culture. idk, it just seems you could be spending your energy enjyoing something else than letting yourself be annoyed be this.

True i've recently start my 1st beastman campaign and all i can say Bestigor, minotaur and ghorgon are my favourite units. Hopefully CA can be less greedy in the future so this game can still survive till we get another beastman dlc

that makes sense, after all in the lore the Incarnate Elemental of Beasts was actually a thing that could usually only be summoned by Bray Shamans (so Beastmen) and Amber Wizards (meaning the Empire should get them too), giving them to Kislev is actually pretty new. if the Empire gets them then they'll probably benefit most since they are kinda lacking for big single entity monsters, also the fact that they have access to the Lore of Life means that they can keep them healed up to maintain their damage AoE.

Got the DLC on sale and have been having a blast with Changling, I’m a big fan of horror so Warhammer Baba Yaga is really starting to peak my interest more and more so I’m gonna try her next. Her faction looks pretty awesome and I love that kislev is got more stuff since I think they definitely needed more Diversity in Playstyles. The Elemental Beast looks so sick I love it, like a huge wendigo.

The major issue I have with Ostankya is that you need to have one of the major cities of kislev at least allied if not in your possession in order to unlock the entire front line that you use in your tier 1 and 2 army. You don’t get a decent front line until the point in the game where you should have access tier 4 (at least in my opinion)

Try spamming giant spiders! With her buffs to them and the buffs they get in forests and their research, they actually make a solid front line (more on the aggro side- they've got good charge too).

@@justpassingthrough686 man once the spiders are upgrading they just wreck, the research that buffs their armor up to 90 makes them sustain quite well, their attacks are magical so demons hate them, poison attacks just makes it even harder for the enemies they are fighting to kill them, and with research you get a dmg over time poison that allows them to kill even the most armored enemies with them since the poison ignores armor.

A great thing about elemental is that unlike giants 60 speed means enemy ranged units don't have as much time to sheet at them.

She's specifically a flanking artillery. So you need to make sure she's protected from cavalry and to avoid friendly fire she needs to be flanking. Casket of souls seems more accurate.

Yuan Bo certainly seems very powerful, especially just being able to instant any 2 Lords or Heroes that are at 20% health or lower. he just seems like a straight upgrade over his siblings. Mother Ostankya seems like an entirely different direction from Katarin and Kostaltyn, even if she is better overall it's in such a different direction that she's hard to compare. and the Changeling itself looks pretty weak. main thing that makes it powerful is the fact that it can replace itself with any other Legendary Lord or Legendary Hero (so it's not so much that the Changeling is OP and more that it can choose to replace itself with a significantly better Lord or Hero, one that might be actually OP).

Well then, looks like Kislev has something that functions as a proper hound unit (just with better stats) now in addition to having a new anti-large unit. Good thing too really, the Snow Leopard was just garbage, though I would've liked to see a bardiche or halberd variant of the Tsar Guard. Ah well, just have to wait for modders to update their stuff after the DLC is launched.

Ice guard is still better agaisnt physical resist units like daemons but I do agree that do overshadow all the other units except kossars because of price.

Meh, having played a lot of Kislev lately Im just honestly not even remotely excited for this, some crones and weird monsters that look like they escaped from the witcher dont really synogise of plug the gaps in the roster, what would be ideal would be a bit more varied artillery park, a higher teir skirmish cav and Tsar guard and a really decent tanky melee hero and maybe bear dragoons, but weird freaky monsters just dont fit, if they were part of some kislv based beast faction sure but sloting these into an army next to the ice guard and besrs, crones and things just dont fit visually
