Mother Quail and 24 Babies

A Mother Quail and Father close by with a amazing 24 Babies (Not In Captivity). I would think laying 24 eggs at once would be rare and well above average.She might just be tending or helping raise some.At any rate it is a lot to look after. I paused and slowed it down around the 3:47 mark to count.

What a brilliant video! Laying 24 eggs is no problem, it would be sitting this many. We raise quail under bantams and they would find it difficult to hatch all these eggs. However, the wild quail knows best and it is my goal one day to get my quail to sit their own eggs, unfortunately in captivity this ability has systematically been bred out of them. A great video and very inspiring - I shall keep trying! Thanks for posting.
