If Petra thinks being head of the Army is gonna be all sunshine and roses just cause she’s in charge now she’s got another thing coming. I think she’s gonna realise pretty quick that Alder’s job wasn’t easy and she made it look easier than it actually was. It’s easy to criticise and say you’ll do better, but it’s different when you are actually given the job and realise the enormity of it and all the pressure and responsibility you have on your shoulders.

Alder is one of the better written arcs, despite her not being a main character. In some episodes, I've been sympathetic to her and at other times wanting her to be removed. The impressive part is the view of her largely changes due to more and more context being provided. I think this highlights an important difference between her and Petra. Responding to short term events isn't always the best long term answer. I thought Alder talking about the wars she had been in, and the benefit of a single enemy, the Spree as a way to reduce country-to-country war, raises the question of whether morally absent actions can still be the best long-term, net strategy. Good writing to me is when the viewer is left with meaningful questions and unclear answers. Bravo.

I love raylla so much, I really do. The representation warms my heart a lot. But what I love even more is the fact that this show is not just a love story, it's so much more than that. It represents life in so many ways and it's just so meaningful. The grief, the loss, the teamwork, the love, the grit, the resilience, the courage, the strength, the hard work, the patience, the sacrifices. All these actors are so so amazing at what they do and I have never loved and appreciated a show this much. Hands down my favourite show ever and I really hope it gets more seasons that it deserves so that everyone working on it can dive deeper into bringing an amazing story to inspire the world to make it a better place. So so thankful and grateful for the creation of this show.

When I first started watching I was wondering if Alder would turn out to be good or bad - and I’m so glad the series didnt take the easy way out by making it that simple - in reality someone who has commanded the military and lived for over 300 years and has abilities that set her apart from the human race of which she is still a part - but also makes her despised and feared by those very people she is to protect - it’s refreshing to have such a complex character on a series! Is she good or bad? Yes, of course! She is human, and we all do good and bad, make good decisions, make terrible decisions, and then there’s good old fashioned mistakes…in short, she is a human with all the requisite flaws and skills and as real as a character can be! I hope she does not die but even so, I think her soul - or some part of her - will reside in the mycellenium/mushroom being (sure I spelled that horribly wrong!) so hopefully every character can “visit” with that in mind no matter what happens! :-) Now, announce Season 3 Renewal already before my stress explodes!!!! :-) :-) :-) LOVE THIS SHOW!!!! :-)

I feel so much for Alder ...she was always underapreciated and villanised by the whole witch community...and to give her life in the finale would be the ultimate redemption for Her?!?! She just lived 300 years , took in all that trauma, revive the entire witch community just to be taken for granted and sacrificed? Ofcourse she did many bad things, like Adil said, sometimes it's the only way! They all cared about Nicta's truth but NOBODY BOTHERED TO TELL EVERYONE ABOUT THE FACT THAT THEY (WITCHES) ARE LITERALLY STILL ALIVE AND NOT EXTINCT OR BURNED BECAUSE OF ALDER AND ONLY ALDER?!?! TBH didn't quite like Tally(her actions) this episode and the fact that the heartwrenching depiction of Alder's past will probably remain with Raelle(who tbh isn't THAT upset about it, and I don't blame her for it) but TALLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SEE ALDER'S STRUGGLE IN THE PAST TOO, NOT JUST HER WRONGDOINGS! Amazing episode tonight, and the way Tally stop that execution of nicte batan was the right thing, so the spree wouldn’t grow from nicte death. It’s understandable that tally wanted things to change for witches, but at the same time they will not have the experience that Alder has gain in her 300+ year’s. Lastly I think the Vice- president is a member of the camarilla, because of the emotion that was shown with his daughter and that he left so quickly because he new what going to happen. Also seeing the trailer for season finale I think Raelle, Abigail, Tally, and Alder were standing before the Mycelium and I’m curious what that means?

Loved this episode! The way they dig in on women, leadership, and power is a vibe. I have to believe the show runners won’t get rid of Gen. Alder unless they absolutely have to. I’m also holding out hope they see how fascinating, unique, and authentic an Alder/Craven relationship could be. No one has done a good older/younger lesbian relationship on TV, I don’t think. For them to tease that tension and not see it through, especially now that Alder doesn’t have oversight over Tally at school or in the army, would be **such** a swing and a miss on a rare opportunity.

I truly hope we get another season (10 more to be precise) where Alder exists(without Biddies? How is that possible!!!) because she deserves to know that her daughters have decimated their Ancient enemy.

i want to see alder - as intimidating elder. teacher. wise woman. it's time for her to pass on what's she's learned - now more than ever. she's managed power plays and politics for long time. she has much to teach. much to share. and she needs to be somewhere she can still be respected. i'd like to see her grow towards that. and can we talk about lovers. let's spill some love life tea. it's time. lyne has been flawless. alder's pain - she wears it. you can feel it. you can see it. it's visceral - a battered heart. scarred, but still it beats. lyne's portrayal - coupled with alder's dialogue...a gift. chef's kiss.

Listen, I have never truly trusted Alder but after hearing her whole story... I really hope she gets a second chance. Maybe not as leader but more of an advisor to the Witches in the military. Like if they aren't sure how to face a certain enemy (Camarilla) then she could give them advice and perspective on how to take on the fight without losing soldiers. I really hope we get a season 3 because I finally feel like these characters are really developed and I want to see what's next after facing the Camarilla.
