But, I don’t believe that the “Union of Earth and Sky must be prevented at all cost”, is a child … the war is upon them NOW, they don’t have time to wait for a daughter to be conceived, born, grow up, and come into her power - I believe there is a spell work that will combine/complement Adil & Abigail’s power, (Earth & Sky) and that is the union that Hurst is referencing. Of course, we have no idea how far into the future season 3 will pick up, but I feel like we’ll see them ‘on the run’ planning, attacking, and uniting witches (Army/Spree/Dodgers) worldwide … that’s what I hope for anyhow 😊

I feel like the Tarim's moral dilemma (and the dilemma of all witches this season) can be perfectly summed up by that quote by Arundhati Roy that says: "Can the hungry go on a hunger strike? Non violence is a piece of theatre. You need an audience. What can you do when you don't have an audience? People have the right to fight annihilation." I liked many aspects of s2. Scenes. Relationships. But I’ll always believe that if FreeformTV promised Eliot 3 seasons at the end of s1 he may have spread out all the stories. Like there could’ve been War College class time for Coven Sehkmet. Learning new things. Professor Magda teaching them advanced magics. And there could’ve been just one enemy. The Spree. Nicte and her faithful followers while other factions like Willa’s were disbanding or perhaps hinting at a greater foe out there, in the dark, in the night. Alluding to The Camarilla which could’ve been the season 3 enemy. There was a lot of story in the past 10 episodes. I’m glad there’s a s3. I am participating in the social media effort to get a s4 somewhere. This cast is superb.

I love that this entire series is about Liberation. The nuances of Right and Wrong. This is probably one of the best and well written series that empowered unity, women and race. They deserved more. And there will be more tears of happiness when she does. - That storm Bellweather mentioned is still brewing, it will release its fury IN MEMORIAM: - Penelope Silver - Alder's Biddies - the 64 lives whose vocal cords were taken In conclusion: this series needs to continue onward until all loose ends are tied and all enemies are gone for good. omg, I cannot wait until season three comes back out. This episode was very very emotional, and broke my heart for most of the scenes. But during the unit finding where the source was coming from. Th-they did what they had to do in order to stop the witch plague from spreading and destroying the rest of the base. Also adding onto the fact that the vice president wanted this to happen and even use his own daughter as a pawn was absolutely hurt full. this episode was decent for the season 2 finale. i still feel that the season 1 finale was better but that's just me. my biggest pet peeve of this season was how weak and incompetent they made the military look throughout, especially with tonight's episode showcasing it even more. i get that the Camarilla ( The Antagonists in Motherland.) are suppose to look deadly & intelligent but it shouldn't be at the expanse of more experienced military personnels with years of training & knowledge, i expected a better fight from the Military. the fact that it took cadets in training like Raelle, Tally, & Abigail to figure out what was going on with the Camarilla attacks & prevented the attacks from doing more damage instead of people like Anacostia, Izadora, Verger, Clary, etc. really bugged me. i even hated how Alder went out, I at least wanted a Willa moment for Alder. The Military felt like cannon folder for the Camarilla this whole season. i just hope in season 3 that the military ( Petra, Anacostia, Izadora, Verger, Clary, Colonel Wick, Lt.Purpoint, Bridey, Berryessa.) are made to look strong, competent and badass ( with physical hand to hand combat & deadly magic.) against the camarilla.

About the Alder moment...when she first fell in the beginning of the episode...in that dark room, and it wasn't specified if she died or not, I was about to throw hands ngl...such disgrace...and the "giving my body to the mycelium" moment too was too underwhelming for me... but that last scene in the mycelium with Alder opening her eyes means she would be there in some form or the other in s3, and play a huge role (not wrt screentime but importance),and I believe thats why she didn't get that "Willa moment" ... because unlike Willa,it's not over for our general. I agree with the whole episode being a little off, idk what went wrong, but yeah the witch army was almost like a damsel in distress this episode. Side note, I almost cracked up at alder being transformed into a literal old tree , which was unexpected given how upset I was with her death . Reminded me of that little cartoon which looked similar 😆

The wards in Fort Salem were all taken down when Alder stepped down, they didn't expect it. Alder has been in power for 300+ years, no one was prepared for her leaving or stepping down. There was so much going on with the politics of it all that the attack caught them by surprise.. Only Abigail, Adil and Raelle have dealt with the witch plague before. The only just started studying it and have no idea how to fight it, and in all honestly we're fighting a deathly virus right now even after a year of this no one in power seems to know how to fight it.

i loved every single second of it..and ngl I like how now Tally start to realize that stubbornly wanting the truth to come out was not the best path to take because biggest things were at work than let people know what was Alder and Nicte relationship I am glad that all the girls seems to have improved so much, Tally, Rae and Aby, and Scylla included...and maaaaan I can't wait to see what Alder will become next, because she seems even closer to become a goddess now that she ever was I knew the vp was trash from the start, but still when i first saw him on the plane watching the footage of Penelope and the doctor, for one second I thought that maybe I was wrong and he was not as bad as I always expected....well little did i know that he is even worse LOL I want karma to hit him like a truck, it will be even sweeter if it will be Anacostia or Mama Bellweather to deal with him in the end I am still not over the fact that they want to end this amazing show with only 3 seasons.. I need more than that..the story clearly need more than that..so please give us MORE (and if it will be really impossible than Eliot start writing the books, because this switcher deserve nothing less than the full story!!!!)

This reminds me of Nichter saying to Alder that she could only have her full power with her Biddies. She is now evolving where she is connected to all who have passed and no longer needs the power of her biddies. Love this evolution!!!

Exactly! She can now access her full power as the mother of mycelium, from that realm, in another dimension and form. I don't want her back in human form, she lived as a human way too long or longer than others (which begets the wonder of how Nicte managed to live that long, on her own, not on dispense of other witches lives?) but she can help and guide as an ancestor. I see mycelium as a form or world of ancestors.

An interesting parallel Alder mentors Tally, and is forced to engage in a duel to the death (Interrupted by the gang): Tally mentors Penelope and has to participate in her destruction. Tally is getting a crash course in the burdens of having to make life or death decisions. I was just sorry that Tally didn’t really show her love of General Alder and allow herself to really grieve. It sounded more like a self justifying little speech. Nicte show more emotion with just her eyes at her execution.

I now have a deep-seated resentment towards the VP. They killed my fave side character like WTH! RIP Penelope, I actually wanted to see more of her. I knew she was gonna die before watching the last episode of S2, but damn I feel so bad for her.

I mean, I'd like to see more of who the VP is. Finding out his daughter is a witch when your a leader in a witch hating group. And she publicly outed herself. So he couldn't cover it up. Pretty sure they made him do that to her, to prove his loyalty. I'd also like to know if the Camarilla is a family thing. Like maybe he has another kid who finds out what he did and infiltrates the Camarilla like Scylla did.

I agree! I think them mentioning being the end of their lines ( Bellweathers and Tarim in episode 7) and a focus on killing off child bearing Bellweathers alludes to this. I'm super excited. Plus we've seen how powerful sex energized the witches I'm curious to see what pregnancy may do🤔

Why is Motherland ending????? Please petition to continue. What a unique series that is matriarchal. Witch that seems to contain siren powers is a refreshing take on the usual witch stories out there. If Freeform does not want then bring it to youtube as a series or in any other company. There are still so many stories to tell, about the Camarilla, histories in the past especially Alder’s story and how she ties in to the future, the ancient witch powers of Calita and other ancient witches that could be out there around the world, probably hiding, the powerful destiny that awaits the three, the idea of Abigail and Adil’s connection, the international witches, more witch lines storylines, etc.

I don't think the ratings are strong. Shows with stronger ratings have been cancelled before. We should be grateful that they're actually planning an end, instead of the show ending on a cliffhanger and then getting canned.

Amazing finale and season overall. All of the main and support characters had a compelling role this season, and I was very satisfied with the way they handled General Alder's depth, which is one of the things that got me so interested in the show in the first place. Hopefully this laid to rest all the people who questioned her throughout the show. Seeing her fall inline and support Petra as the new General, Nicta seeing the consequences of her actions with the Spree and the persecution she unleashed on witches with the Camarilla(who used her to gain more allies), and everyone seeing how quickly the President & the world turned their backs on Petra and Fort Salem, has literally proven all of Alder's efforts and intentions all along. It was never about power, but the protection of witches. She's the only one who's lived long enough to have the foresight to see how it would end. - I'm glad Adil and his sister Khalida survived, and I'm glad they're both on the same page with putting their beliefs to the side to ensure the safety of each other and their kind. I'm very interested to see what a child from Adil and Abigail could produce. The Camarilla leader seemed to suggest it would be biblical. I wonder if they'll go with a time travel story, where the child comes from the future to help? - I was glad to see Raelle and Scylla survive and be together. The Dodgers seems like they have really cool abilities to aid in their fight as well. - I was happy to see The Unit show skills that were all unique to them, and were crucial to the defeat of the attack on Fort Salem. Fort Salem now has ways to conteract the contagion and the devices that cancel out their vocal spellwork. Which is great and will be useful in the war to come in S3. - Alder's biddies being retired was the right call. I'm glad Alder will probably no longer need to rely on them to remain alive or be so vunerable should one of them fall to an attack. She seems to have become one with the mycelium so this could mean a HUGE power boost in S3, which could be truly awesome for her character now that all the witches seem to be on the same page about everything. - Everyone saw Penelope's father being in the Camarilla, but I'm surprised by President Wade's reaction. How does she not see Penelope's infected with the contagion in the video the news captured of her death? I get that she wants to do an impartial investigation, but her dismissiveness to the situation seems off. Her and Petra seemed to be on good terms, but this all could've just been a front on her part. But I think it's also possibe the Camarilla could be puppeting her through the vocal cords they stole. Would be an interesting twist.

Great season 2 finale and defiantly an emotional roller coaster from beginning to end. It was surprisingly how Alder became wood-like after her biddies were taken out by witch plague, and not surprised that she was too stubborn to die and her request for Raelle and the unit to take her to the Mycelium is interesting. Because it made me think something is going on and at we saw it at the end Alder lives and it’s a relief, because now we now vice- president Silva was a member of camarilla atheist entire time and it was obvious.lastly Alder still alive she will definitely be needed in the war against the camarilla.
