Great video, man. What I do here in Maine is save all my moss after cleaning out as much sand as I can. At the end of the season after it has completely dried out, I burn it in a large iron pot along with some cedar scrap wood. Then, I pan the ashes. You would be surprised how much gold gets retained in the moss.

Bert Whisenant the moss itself, even when dry, does not seem to burn up completely, probably because of the sand remaining in it. Adding some dry cedar or other kindling helps to burn the moss down to ash.

Love that Motherlode moss! I scraped the old moss off the bottom of the Yuba back in 2016. It was the last month's of a 4 year drought. I filled a 5 gallon bucket worth, dried it out for a couple days. Set that Shit on fire and panned the ashes. One of the best pans I have ever had! Cheers my Motherlode friend!

they say anything that is yellow isn't always all gold but what they don't tell you is it's sulfides which can smelt out with iron nail and gold will remain, gold runs besides iron vein and next to quartz in sulfurs mostly, ty svm for the moss tip i'll keep that in mind, my favorite saying is ,if in doubt melt it out

2:10, The hawks and Owls like small dogs. I've witnessed a Owl pick up a rabbit and then drop it at a higher altitude. Get a spiked collar for Peaty, predators might attack, given the chance. Also vets carry a rattle snake anti venom, I believe its a shot they can get. (not sure how long the shot lasts for, maybe year? maybe 2) Great video and get that gold!

Well your on the rite track but the moss will not stay in flood. Enless its already attached naturally and even then if there's a water shift in direction it will strip off what ever moss it travels over. Not just gold is moving in flood millions and millions of rocks from pebbles to boulders. But there is ways to set up river catches. Mostly bolting down iron L brackets and then you could clean certain areas. But the moss will naturally catch small flood gold high up even each year.

Mike Walter yes the cube is designed to do exactly that. I'm running 15 to 30 pounds of cons threw it and its 99% black sand " well gold to lol" but you end up with about a cup worth of heavies out of each tray after. I just recently joined a club near me that allows you on several public lands that has decent gold in Virginia.. but prior to that I've been doing my local creeks and ditches, finding small gold.. a Hopewell Virginia picker is probably 2 times the size of a flea.. Lmao.. But one area here I can pan and in each pan there's at least 20 or more specs of fine gold.. Not that bad for a ditch.. You can use small piece of magnet to remove the black sand

Yes your rite ! I use one at the final clean up stage. There's to much ultra fine black sand and micron gold that gets locked in if you do it to early.

@@angeldelbarrio9209 the gold stays between the blk sand when mag. Its not a matter of being able to get it off the magnet. Its keeping it in the pan. If you could see the amount of blk sand collected in a full day "16 oz" concentrated. There's to much time involved taking it out with a magnet from the start. You end up having to go threw your cons multiple times. The only thing that would work is a "spin it OFF" those grab and release the blk sand every revolution therefore dropping the gold off it.

The homeless patriot head tords norcal anytime ill take you out. I'm pretty far off socal now and the gold is bomb up here . so I'm not going further south then mariposa most likely again. Until I come back across the country with my family. Ill be coming in socal again.
