Zia Avery Lewis-Adams is a born and bred Grand Bahamian, the second-born
to Kenneth and Lynette Lewis.
She recalls from an early age, being passionate about two things; the law and church. From Sunday School to the Praise Team, Zia actively participated in the function of St. Paul’s Methodist Church. However, it was only after moving to England at 17 to pursue her legal education that she grew beyond participation into a deeper relationship with God. She attributes this time of solitude as the catalyst that fostered her total dependency on Jesus Christ, her Saviour.
Zia was called to the Bar of the Bahamas in 2013, and in 2015, joined the prestigious firm of Graham Thompson where she is presently an Associate in the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department and the Property and Development Department.
Not only is Zia academically driven but she is also community-minded and passionate about saving souls through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She has effectively served as both a Youth Leader for St. Andrew’s Methodist Church and as the Circuit Youth Director for the Methodist churches in Grand Bahama. Zia is also a Local Preacher in the Methodist Grand Bahama Circuit. Zia is a member of and has served in the capacity of President of the International Federation of Women Lawyers, also known as FIDA, Grand Bahama Chapter.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling and experiencing new cultures, loves to sing, and has a keen interest in interior design. Zia is married to Minister Christopher Dion Adams, and they have one son, Zavier Avery Alexander Adams.
