"Yu-sem", sorry if I pronounced that incorrectly. And now, Tim and Trevor OOBERMERMER 🤣🤣

Definitely two great books to put side-by-side. They do really show the opposite ends of the inspirational spectrums - both great in different ways for different wardens!

This was a great way to illustrate the continuum on bare bones and in-depth adventure design. There is so much creative freedom and design space! I'd totally choose The Burning of Carbex, though picking up the drain and tweaking it to be an intro to Mothership might be a fun way to introduce friends to the rule system

One of the (many) things I find refreshing about Mothership RPG books/pamphlets/zines is the general condensation of information. Bare minimum, but enough to fill in the blanks. Same goes for layout. Sparks my imagination, and facilitates my fluid playstyle. Hence I would pick "The Drain", although Carbex looks fun too.

Did… did Alan refer to his “creative taint”??

I like the Drain. That can work as a very fun night or many nights of gaming. That collar idea is gold. I will be using that for sure. I will be picking that one up. The other one is kind of long for me. These vids are great. They make me buy the modules. Last one I got Gradient Decent. Its good to know what's out there too.

Wait, did you not mention Ian Yusem's Kickstarter Hull Breach?? Anyway, The Drain is the superior product here if you're going print. If you are getting PDFs, get both! The Drain is truly awesome (and part of a trilogy), mostly meant to be run through in one session I believe, where as The Burning of the Carnex I think is meant for at least 2 or 3 sessions (I think). Also I'm partial towards Ian Yusem since he's such a prolific writer of Mothership modules. His layout design and writing is awesome. As for the Carnex book, the printing errors we see are likely due to a PDF formatting issue when sent to the printer and not the artist or the image format... however you can also see the text overflowing from the tables, that's either intentional, or the fonts weren't embedded, OR this was made in Adobe and Adobe fonts do not allow embedding, instead expecting the printer to also have licenses for Adobe products and Creative Cloud. (Lesson here is to communicate with your printer early on in the design process) Anyway, I wont be buying that, but the module looks fun.

I’m very interested in The Drain. Are there any plans to update it for 1st edition rules?

I immediately thought of Jordan Peterson at 13:00. They sell inspiration without meat. We’ve been ramshackled!
