Eunice has faced many obstacles since converting to become a Muslim. From the unacceptance of her parents to not being able to find a community for support, she had felt lonely and helpless in her journey of practicing and learning the faith.
Today, she has found a safe haven in a community of converts whom she shares a special bond with.

Outside. One example is my lecturer when that time i was scolded badly infront of all my classmates because i put my chinese name. Before that, he dont believe me that im chinese because of my skin. So he snatch my IC and show to the chinese students in the class. I remember that incident very clearly because it still gave me trauma and it is clear that he hates me because of my "unusual race & religion"

End of day, no matter which faith you believe in, it's all about staying true to yourself while respecting others faiths and the differences.

Dear sister, I feel the pain you are going through as I find myself in a similar shoes with my parents. I found answers (to the truth which I was seeking for all these years) when I read the Quran and happiness in Islam having tried out Christianity, Buddhism and Taoism. However my parents still do not accept it, and started making a lot of discriminatory (and bias) remarks about Islam and saying it is not a religion for Chinese. Yet ironically, my parents don't practice or have strong beliefs in any religion. My parents aren't just open minded (including other aspects of life) about it at all and they are trying to pinpoint the blame on my friends for radicalizing or persuading me. My parents are filled with a lot of misconceptions and I have been trying to invite them to Darul Arqam to speak with converts yet they kept rejecting it. Alhamdulilah I've blessed that I have many supportive Muslims friends over the years. At the end of the day, as Muslims we can only be Sabr and try out best to spread Da'wah through our actions rather than words. May Allah grant us all converts strength to endure hardship. I'm also in the process of looking for my own place or room to stay soon, so as to avoid listening to anymore unnecessary comments with my parents.

Islam has been practiced in China since the 7th century. The Chinese were muslims first before the Malays. Islam came to the Malays in 12th century. China is estimated to have 28 million muslims, even more than the muslims of both Malaysia and Singapore combined. Peace.

Yes.. true..but china is so big.. so, muslim is only few percent.. i think just 1-3 %.. Most muslims are hui & Uighur ethnicity .. there is another small muslim ethnicity tho which i don't remember (their number is smaller than hui).. In malaysia & Singapore, the ethnicity mainly han ethnicity which is buddism and taoism practitioners

MasyaAllah! As a Malay Muslim, I always wanted to be friends with Muslims with other races. Not saying I dislike my own race, but why not venture out. Islam is for everyone. Many of my students unfortunately when it comes to non-muslims, it is the chinese or indians. They are very young but are always reminded when in Islam, you can have any background of race. Does not matter because in the end, we belong to Him. Sometimes I feel, there is this barrier holding us back from knowing each other which is disappointing. I always look a healthy society as a very delicious, healthy meal. You need to mix the right ingredients to make it delightful. And every ingredients have its own unique taste. As fine as a tablespoon of salt will change the taste. So, in a society, you mix with the right people, no matter the color, you get a hard, close-knit community. And of course, especially if you are one in the same belief as the other. Forgive me for rabbling, this just an old man's thought.😁

Firstly, simply declare to yourself that "There is none worthy of worship except Allah and Muhammad (PBUH) is His messenger". Secondly, go to any mosque of Islamic Centre to make the official declaration. Thirdly, learn about Islam one step at a time, do not rush. Similar to my experience with my parents when I converted to orthodox Christianity. My family is Roman Catholic, and was very disappointed and even threatened to throw me out of my house for my beliefs and conversion to Orthodox Christianity. I did not care, my sufferings, persecutions or whatever happened to me is nothing but a mercy from God, if I am to die for my beliefs I die as a martyr, and I will be united with God. I have nothing to fear. Though it's a different religion, her story really relates to me

I"m saddened to hear that, my sister-in-law is also a chinese muslim but she was able to find a close circle of friends. Unfortunately, the nature of the fast paced lifestyle in Singapore really is not conducive to forming communities beyond closest friends or family relations. So this exacerbates the negative effects of those who unfortunately found themselves in very niche positions. To all the muslim converts regardless of your racial backgrounds, you have my sincerest respect and I hope Allah eases your unspoken burdens that you keep inside.

With high suicide rates in Singapore, I believe more dakwah-ish counseling center should exist in Singapore, preferably online like by using Google meets, or zoom. When I watch this video I noticed something important that was mentioned, community. I don't know a lot about this suicide issue, but enough to know that it stems from depression and loneliness is I believe a catalyst if not one of the main causes, this feeling of not being connected with another.

There is Darul Arqam, the Muslim Convert Association. It organises classes and activities which provide opoortunities for Muslim converts (and those Muslim born) to meet. They even have Multi-National Clubs. There are many other support systems now, with converts/reverts being welcomed, compared to the time when my late mother converted (50+ yrs ago) where she was ostracised by both sides.

Hello Friends. Non-Muslims Love Muslims. I only had primary school education. Please forgive me if I had offended you, anyone or anything like Muslims and Islam respectively. The Whole World Had Eyes To See That Almost All Worldly Wars from 911 attacks to the recent Uganda School attacks were all carried out by the Muslims therefore Islam Means Wars. How many innocent lives were taken away just because of the impulsiveness of the Muslims? The Quran had only 700 years old of history and all the contents in the Quran were copied from Hinduism-A History of 5000 years old, Buddhism-A History of 2500 years old and Christianity-A History of 2000 years old. Even the Interfaith Muslims marriages and the Malay Muslims marriages also had the highest divorced rates in Singapore. Next, when the Muslims in any part of the World were striked down by any wars, disasters or misfortunes, it will always be the case of the Non-Muslims who will generously sacrifice their hard earned money, contribute and render humanitarian aid to the suffering Muslims in the Whole World. Therefore, I herein sincerely hope, wish and pray that the Worldly Muslims would be able to open up their eyes wide and recognised the truth that when something bad happened to the Muslims, ONLY the compassionate Non-Muslims will step forward to help the Muslims. I am grateful for all your precious time to analyse, wake up from your wicked deeds and your compassion for forgiveness. The Deeds of the Malay Muslims had caused me to be mentally ill. Please allow me to share something here. If you opened your hearts, eyes, brains, ears, souls and observe carefully, you will notice that of all the Worldly Religions, only Allah in the Quran said that you must kill the disbelievers because they are the enemies of Allah. Quite scary and that is why whenever I saw the Malay Muslims, I will quickly run away as far as I could. I am grateful for your compassion and forgiveness in advance should I had offended you, Muslims or Islam indirectly. I had been bullied by the Malay Muslims in Singapore since young for examples my classmates, teachers, neighbours, colleagues, basically the Public of the Malay Muslims in General. There is no way that I can accept Islam and their followers. If anyone of you had the same horrified encounters as me or if you and/or your family members had also suffered under the hands of the Malay Muslims, then you would denounce Islam also. The worst issue is I cannot complain because Singapore Government promotes peace and harmony. By outlook, I am peace-loving but deep inside my heart is bleeding because I am a vulnerable who cannot defend myself verbally. At least there are Malay Muslims in Singapore who are denouncing and leaving Islam because they realised that even their own Malay Muslims Communities are throwing condemnation at them which made them difficult to continue staying or serving their faith in Singapore. Look at the World, even Muslims are killing the Muslims. When talking about Fasting, some of whom I can relate to are my colleagues as some are doing labouring job which hinders them to fast as they will faint. These Malay Muslims are creating white lies in order to recruit new converts that all humans originated from Islam and had brain washed believers from other religions to become a Muslim. Have anyone of you wonder why the Whole World can accept All Religions but cannot accept Islam? All the Gods of all other Religions will punish these Malay Muslims who are trying to convert other believers from other religions to Islam. Watch out you Malay Muslims in Singapore. Everybody knew very deep inside their hearts that most of the Malay Muslims are the dirty diseases carriers and had the highest divorced rates including those interfaith marriages in Singapore. Just a little sharing, I really look forward to the Month of Ramadan (Fasting) every year because the food courts and hawker centres are very clean, fresh and cool without the Malay Muslims Patrons eating at these areas. When eating outside, I will try to go to food courts and hawker centres without Malay Muslims Patrons because with Malay Muslims, the air is very suffocated, hot and stuffy or else if there are any Muslims patrons, I will make a quick take-away. But I knew clearly that the Worldly Muslims want to have their people in every country in this World. I was deeply heart-broken when the Malay Muslims destroyed the Buddha's shrine in Myanmar by force, weapon and all sorts of methods in order to get their people convert to Islam. If the Quran is Holy, it should not teach you that oral sex is permissible. Next, open your eyes wide and see that these Worldly Muslims will be punished in one way or another either by natural disasters or misfortunes. Let us take a close look at the Muslims in Turkey who had been suffering because of the punishment by earthquake. Karma is the punishment for Muslims’ wickedness. Watch out you Malay Muslims and Other Muslims in every part of this World. All Worldly Religions said that must LOVE your unbelievers and enemies. Sad to say that only Allah in the Quran said that must kill the unbelievers because they are the enemies of Allah. My overall conclusion is that if you love wars, disasters and misfortunates then become a Muslim. TQ!

This is what i like about person who converts because of what they believe, not because of "Hey i love you, gonna convert first!". Yeah I'm Buddhist, but i love to learn about muslim and christianity. I find peace on both of them. You can say that I'm actually compatible with all of it. So then where should i stand? is what i ask for myself. I found the answer tho, my connection and faith with the god i believe cannot be segmented like this. It was like the warmth i feel from the god was "peaceful". For legal purposes i still hold myself as buddhist (don't wanna upset my parents). For ritual i also practice buddhism. But truth to be told, i do wish i can sholat and go to church someday. This sounds so crazy and disrespectful, thats why i didn't attempt to do it.

The answer is in the Quran, Surah Al-Ikhlas: "He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah, the Eternal & Absolute. He neither begets nor is born (He is Unborn and Uncreated, has no parents, wife or offspring), There is none comparable (equal, equivalent or similar) to Him." God is the Creator, He is not created. He has no beginning nor end. To attribute such qualities would equalise Him with His creations.

Muslims are generally the most passionate people about the religion as compared to any other religions if you notice. The only group has people memorising the entire holy book with institutions to support. Perhaps it's good to start learning about the religion with an open heart and you'd understand why. It's hard to let the truth in if your heart is closed.

I left Islam, my community and my country because to leave Islam is blasphemy in my former country. Some of my friends who left Islam have just disappeared without a trace. Now, I am in a new country and a new family. I missed my parents and I hope they are safe. I have contacted them and told them to leave the country because I know the community and my relatives would have outcast my parents after I left Islam.

@@mamachola I have done my research on Islam and compare it with other religions. There are plenty of evidence that Islam is the only true religion from God and its too easy to prove the falsehood of other religions. Hence, this is why I'm also a Muslim by choice.
