@@MotherTheMountain I grew up like this and still live this way as much as I can, as natural as I can, recycle everything, reuse, etc. But I really miss living on a farm like you all do. It is a hard life style, but a much better one. Honestly, you are beautiful souls, lovely ladies, and I'm willing to bet your grand parents and dad n mom are all quite proud of their girls. Wished I had met a woman like you all instead of the self centered, materialistic ones I ended up with. I bet my life would have been much happier. This is the first "cottage-core" video that really made me understand how it is anti-indigenous. Settlers drove the Aboriginals off this land, industrialized Australia because back then it was considered the only "civilized" life. Now, when the Earth is dying and we see that the original land respecting lifestyle was better not just for nature but for our mental health, it is the descendants of these same people ("our grandparent's farm!") who get to enjoy the bliss of nature while indigenous people live in poverty and squalor.

@@MotherTheMountain Your intuition serves you well. In fact, your 3rd person voice is best: It is polite, engaging but keeps a reserved and respectful distance. I think indirect interaction is healthiest. Your videos should be in service to what you do as opposed to you serving what to video, if that makes sense. It ensures your reality is first, not virtual reality. It is good to see how you are both growing your intellectual life via practicing skills (embroidery/fashion/art) as well as growing as people in your physical life (homestead work). How would you say your emotional and social life are able to grow also? If you have all these and it seems you are connecting your values as people with what you do and how you live, you are living a high self-actualized life. It is wonderful state of existence to reach. It makes my heart happy to see people experience this. Thank you for sharing.

It's so surprising to me how your lifestyle allows for so much creative flow. I always wished I had learned how to make clothing. I really enjoyed “Home economics” class in middle school where we got to choose different projects from a book that the teacher would order for us (usually stuffed animals and bags). I remember I had ordered a bag set which was really cute and I still have to this day-over 25 yrs old! It was a 3pc bag set- a thing draw string backpack- really just a one shoulder backpack, a small thin drawstring bag and then this very small- the size of a small sandwich bag with a zipper oh and the backpack has a small zippered pocket in the front sewed onto it. Anyways sorry for the long comment! I just feel inspired to try this. I think my Ma has an old sewing machine that she would give me 😊. Me too, some pure linen doona fabric just waiting for a Chanel - inspired dress and jacket. Hey, a thought. Those "tiered" skirts iconic of early American pioneer women - little girls grow, take off the top tier and put the drawstring in that, add a new layer to the bottom as she grows. The tatty bits would become patchwork for, well, everything from quilts to curtain tie-backs to cushion covers, etc. My favourite hand-stitched quilt is in 2-inch (finished) squares so any old thing can contribute. Have you considered making depression era clothing? During the depression rural moms ( in the US )would make shirts and dresses out of the 50 lb dry good sacks. Floor, beans, or sugar sack. Bet you could make a beautiful gold medal shirt or dress... : )

Awww I love this!!! You two remind me of my sister and I growing up. We lived in nature and spent all day being creative- writing, painting, acting, singing and dancing.. she is a fashion designer in LA now and I still live creativity, but have been focusing more on divination and healing arts. What a dream it would be to live like this again.... how this video made me feel is affirming my decision to apply at a local micro college called Thoreau college. It is in nature and offers art fellowships, all while learning to work sustainably with the land and studying various philosophies, especially Transcendentalism.
