i am a bloke and I am the Christmas one in the house here in Scotland, I am in the planning and preperation phase, making, buying etc. My wife love that I do it and create it, the first weekend in December, its mulled wine, tunes and mince pues whilst she is out at work and it all comes togerther before she gets home that day, it is exciting for me from October, we do not do halloween at all...

I decorate the beginning of November. It’s a lot of work so I want to enjoy it for as long as I can. Also my kids and grandkids love the house when it’s so festive. We don’t do santa but if we did I’d totally get the mailbox. It would be neat if there was a letters to God mailbox like that.

❤ hello. I fell in love with the mail box. I found it in QVC and ordered it. I have 9 grandchildren and they would love this!!! I’ll enjoy watching their faces as their mail goes off to Santa!!! 😊. I try to give myself 2 months for each season/holiday. September and October are fall/halloween and November and December are Christmas. Thanksgiving was always my mom’s favorite so we always celebrate at home with Christmas decor up!

Just last year I started decorating mid-November and I LOVED it. I get to enjoy Xmas for a couple extra weeks. And no one cares that we’re eating turkey for Thanksgiving and looking at Christmas decorations 😊 Also Jenn, I got the small gingerbread house plate at Hobby Lobby, and I’m going to use it as a spoon rest on my stove

I love all, but the Santa, the cocoa sign, the gingerbread things, and the quilted tree ornament at the end were my faves. When we decorate is determined by where we are for Christmas. If we travel, I decorate earlier so we can enjoy it at home. Thank you for sharing your new treasures!

Wow ~ what a great Christmas haul!!! SO many wonderful new things, your house is gonna look amazing! Those McKenzie tartan pieces are fabulous (I know how impressively big those pots are ... I used to wait until after Thanksgiving but I realized that I wasn't enjoying the season enough because I would be decorating. Now I start mid-November that way I can get more enjoyment out of the season because it's my absolute favorite time of the year. I also usually plan as well.

I start to decorate for Fall on August 31st. I keep my Fall decor up until October 31st., & then I put up my Christmas decor. Our kids are grown now & they have gotten used to the fact of having our Christmas tree up at Thanksgiving! 😊 In our area here in Texas, you have to purchase Christmas decor when they are first putting it out in the stores especially at Hobby Lobby. The merchandise goes quick! I had an associate at Hobby Lobby tell me last year while I was shopping in the store, “ if you see it & want it, you better buy it because odds are it won’t be here when you come back .“ 😂 She was right. Great Video. Our Canadian Thanksgiving is this weekend. After thanksgiving and rememberance day which is Nov. 11, I start decorating Nov 12. I love love love Tartan too. I will be incorporating that into my decor as well this year. My favourite is the Santa's and little elves but like everything you do I love it all really. Hey we are both capricorns. lol. For the past 43 years, I've always started decorating for Christmas the weekend before Thanksgiving:) This year I plan to start November 1st...woohoo!! I transition from Halloween to Fall Harvest to Christmas. The day after Thanksgiving the tree goes up as well as the garland. Then Dec 1 the decorations go all out! Been this way for over 40 years.❤
