Anybody else watching this in 2022. I don’t know why but this exact song popped into my head for some nostalgic reason and so it prompted me to look it up and that’s how I got here. Listening to this song again after not hearing this for years really sent a rushing wave of nostalgia over me. Sheeeeesh Motion City was a one of a kind band back in the day. Since they’ve been broken up for about 5 years now, all we have are memories like this amazing heavy-layered comforting song. Everything will be alright. If not now, they will be eventually. Thank you Motion City for such a timeless track that will be remembered for years to come.

As somebody who's struggled with depression their entire life, this song really speaks to me. The fake 'yeah I'm alright' s you have to give to people who don't or won't understand. The constant veil you wear just to go outside when it happens. This constant feeling of 'the world wants me to be fine so I HAVE to be fine'. This song got me through a lot when I was younger and quite a bit recently as well. And I'll always come back.
@BulletSponge178 Жыл бұрын
This also helps with the "fake it 'til you make it" approach to keeping level or trying to be happier along the way. Just the way this resonates and lets you know you're not alone helps me massively when I hear it.

"Everything Is Alright" Tell me that you're alright, Yeah everything is alright. Oh please tell me that you're alright, Yeah everything is alright. Give me a reason to end this discussion, To break with tradition. To fold and divide. Cause I hate the ocean, theme parks and airplanes, Talking with strangers, waiting in line.. I'm through with these pills that make me sit still. "Are you feeling fine?" Yes, I feel just fine. Tell me that you're alright, Yeah everything is alright. Oh please tell me that you're alright, Yeah everything is alright. I'm sick of the things I do when I'm nervous Like cleaning the oven or checking my tires Or counting the number of tiles in the ceiling.. Head for the hills, the kitchen's on fire! I used to rely on self-medication, I guess I still do that from time to time. But I'm getting better at fighting the future, "Someday you'll be fine.." Yes, I'll be just fine. Tell me that you're alright, Yeah everything is alright. Oh please tell me that you're alright, Yeah everything is alright. Give me a reason (I don't believe a word) To end this discussion (of anything I've heard) To break with tradition (they tell me that it's not so hard) To fold and divide (it's not so hard) So let's not get carried (away with everything) Away with the process (from here to in-between) of elimination (the long goodbye) I don't want to waste your time. Tell me that you're alright, Yeah everything is alright. Oh please tell me that you're alright, Yeah everything is alright. (Alright) Tell me that you're alright, (Hi, everything's great) Yeah everything is alright.
