Probably a little late for the give away, but we use an old sump pump with fittings that shoot out in 4 directions and we tie off decoys to the center pipe so the decoys ride in the out flow.

I just recently purchased a Motion Duck Decoy Spreader, it’s basically a jerk string on steroids. I love it. Instead of them moving in a linear line, it looks like a whole flock of ducks swimming. I also throw the mojo butt ripper in the middle of my spread as well.

Jerk rig with a weight and bungie cord at the end. I also add other weights along the line and run the line under the weights to make it look like some decoys are feeding and going "butt-up". Either hand pull or attach a battery and custom pulley system depending on how far I need to carry heavy gear. Works in 4 inches to 4 feet of water. You also can't go wrong adding a Mojo or 2 and throwing sticks and stomping puddles for splashing. Always looking forward to the giveaways and hello from Ontario, Canada.

Growing up hunting on the creek, I would always gather up a bunch of chunky sticks. When the ducks would work over, I'd throw one in to splash the water and make a few waves. Of course, when the water got out in the woods, I'd use the old Lacrosse method and kick the water!!!

My favorite system is Motion Ducks. I usually swim groups of 7 or 10 and if I’m hunting with multiple guys I’ll set up 2-3 different sets. I hunt central TX mainly farm kinds and small lakes in the fly zones. Really helps pull them down into gun range. Thanks for the review!!

In Oregon we cannot use any motorized devices. Decoy Dancer is the most amazing pull sting flapper decoy and in combination with The Last Stand, you get a jerk rig effect throwing ripples throughout the spread and allowing you to use it even in rocky bottoms where a pole cannot be used. It has been a huge advantage to have and by far the best motion combination I have ever used.

Joel, I am a gadget guy myself. Always on the hunt for new ways to add motion. Unfortunately in Washington State we aren't allowed to use battery operated items. I hunt from a boat blind. I use a combination of a four position jerk rig and Higdon XS Kickers and pulsators. I also use Mojo spinning wing decoys in the early season, mostly attracting teal. But by mid season I have to pull those. By mid season I find that the Mojos definitely attract the ducks from a distance but when they get close they pretty much freak out.

I'm a "deep water" ~2 - 3.5 feet water public land hunter. So, lots of walking in and hauling gear in. My go to has been a jerk rig with 2 mallards; typically right in the middle of my decoys so any ripples that are made can make my spread look more lifelike.

Simple grey conduit pvc pole about 5 foot long and 550 cord. Loops tied at various lengths along the line to the boat and various sized loops. Gets the decoys spread out and you just attach the Texas rig to the loop and the weight pulls the decoys back when you let the line go. Pretty simple diy jerk rig.

I’m a ripple fanatic! I run three Duck Creek Decoy Flashbacks, two Battleship Swimmers, and two butt ripples. I used manual jerk rigs for decades, but simply got sick of the manual part. Also, with automatic ripples, birds you can’t even see yet can see your ripples (versus seeing birds when it’s too late and you’ve put down your jerk string).

I have found that placing a weight on a fishing line between your decoy and jerk handle allows you to swim the decoys with or against the current (as much line as you have), and lets you "pop" them in and out of the water when the line is taught and the duck is directly above the weight.
@joegarcia9789
@joegarcia9789 3 жыл бұрын
Hay Joel, I use the long lining method or a version of it. It's 50lb fishing line or braid that's anchored to the bank. You can make it as long or as short as you want. The key is, it must be in open water and you have to have a steady wind if the wind is circling the decoys will get tangled up in them selves. To rig run 100' of line at one end string on the decoy swivels ( I wouldn't do more than 8) then start with the last swivel tie a drop loop don't make the loop to long or the decoy will tangle. 2 to 3 inches is good Then measure 3 to 4 feet this first decoy must be far enough away because it will slow the other decoys down. Too long and it can whip around and get tangled. Now finish the rest of the swivels in groups down the line. Space them far enough so they don't hit each other. I do 18 inches to 2ft depending on the size of decoys, groups of 4 then 3 with 3 to 4 foot spacing between each group. Now I take a 2 oz. Bell sinker and a foot of line tie those together and the other end I tie on a swivel this guy will then be connected to the last decoy at the end. The weight slows this guy down. P.s. the swivels I refer to are what we use on the decoy rigs. ( snap swivels) Also when connecting the decoys use the hole closest to the body of the decoys this will give it better action with less or light winds. Thanks like watching! It was actually you that gave me the idea when you said don't do what everybody else is doing.

Jerk string is the main way. Sometimes you gotta think out of the box tho lol. I have been in situations where I've forgotten the jerk string at home or in the truck and had to use rocks. Throwing rocks in your spread can be effective you just gotta be careful not to hit your decoys. I have also used a tree limb that was there already. Give it a tug or 2 and it would give some movement. Looking forward to the review on this product.

This season was nice and windy here in Ontario. So I didn’t have too much to do. In fact, even the spinner wasn’t that used. Past season I had 5 decoys in a row on one line. It gives me movement up to six teal decoy. It worked very well for me this year. It’s also small and compact. Like I said I have to walk in and I have been in a mining accident And have a hard time walking, So lighter compact and realistic the better for me.
