I may could own a Harley Davidson with water cooling,,,,but then a chain too... I know it's an "Adventure bike" and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Different strokes,,,,,Different folks.

I've been riding bikes with chains for 51 years and had zero issues. Simple to maintain, very reliable and have the least power lose to the rear wheel. That's why they're still the #1 choice for motorcycles... Thanks Joe!! 👍

@TheSmoaksVlogs I understand,,,,I've had a lot of chains through my 58 years of riding since my first Honda C110 (sport 50) to throw newspapers on in 1967. Lol,,,, I was a Honda mechanic when we had Dream 305 as a touring bike. I sure enjoy your channel even though I'm not a three wheeler guy, been watching since you bought your Road King.

In Aviation we always take an oil sample every oil change and have it analyzed. We can look back at the metal levels from past oil changes and see if something is getting high. Helps determine internal wear. If we see a high level of metal in the filter we can usually tell exact what it is with an oil sample analysis. But you can’t pull over if the aircraft engine suddenly starts coming apart like a motorcycle.

There used to be a BMW group called the "Chain Gang". Looking at your garage, I'm thinking you could start your own chain gang. BMW sure knows how to complicate a moto. Makes my RE's seem so simple. I sure wish it was going into spring time. Winter always seems soooo long.!! 👍👍

I’d go ride the hell out of that Beemer for 3-4 thousand miles and see what happens at the next oil change. It’s either gonna blow or be fine. I always used a knuckle to knuckle ruler on chains. Great vid as always! Be well Smoaks

Thanks for another great vlog. Have you checked the tool kit that is said to contain a multi tool that can be used to measure chain slack? Could you please research it's use and give a demonstration and opinion on it's use? Your opinion means a great deal in the Can Am community. We own both A'21 S2S and '23 Pan America. To be clear, I was referring to the HD Pan America and it's tool kit. The multi tool supposedly rides up inside the holle in the swing arm that is the halfway point between the axle and swing arm pivot. As a follower, I would trust your opinion.
