LYRICS:
I still feel you crawling under my skin
You left a certain kind of sick that I can’t let go of
I’m thinking back on all the time that I’ve wasted
I’m afraid that it’s only leading to darker places
The curse you left, it ends tonight
Even if I have to tear out my insides
Never again will this heart be your home
I’ll be happy as someone else
Today I found my open door
I set my sights on something more
I live for something more
Another day spent waiting on a sign
For anything to tell me I’m doing something right
Somewhere there’s a love that I long for
But I can’t see through the smoke in my window
Leaving you behind left me aimless
Staring in the mirror and I feel like I’m faceless
The only thing I know is that I’d rather die
Than live in a world where you still control my life
Today I found my open door
I set my sights on something more
I’m done reliving the pain you dealt me
I’m sick of trying to take back time
Today I live for something more
At both ends, burnt once more
But now I live for something more
Today I found my own embrace
I’ll never regret who I am today
Today I found my open door
I set my sights, set my sights on something more
I’m done reliving the pain you dealt me
I’m sick of trying to take back time
Today I live for something more

I love how MIW makes song sequels, trilogies, and callbacks to other songs of theirs. Once you listen to their entire catalogue, it starts to feel like the Motionless in White cinematic universe.

@@jessicaelizabeth1008 Your words resonate within me whenever I hear this song. I know nothing of directing music videos but the part where he says "Today I found my own embrace" I picture a survivor of domestic violence embracing their children and then the part where he says, "I'll never regret who I am today" I picture it showing the other side of their face while holding their children smiling and a small tear streaming from their bruised eye. I have so many different ideas for a music video but that's one that stands out and is an image I always see when that part hits.

The original Burned was so bleak and hopeless, and it absolutely resonated so hard with me when Infamous came out. Listening to Burned 1 and 2 back to back is as close as I can get to time travel then vs now Burned 2 is about leaving the past to die and move forward and choosing yourself. Looking back a decade ago, where I was at to now…this will forever be a personal favorite essiential MIW song. It’s like a celebration of how far I’ve come mentally and physically. I needed this one track to be a hit when I first heard it announced, and it absolutely destroys my expectations.

I went through a breakup with the type or person portrayed in this song earlier this year. This song has really helped me cope. Thanks, MIW. It’s good to know I’m not alone.

I have just been thrown away by the person I have loved for the past 3 years. She disappeared into thin air forgetting my existence. I later discovered that she is a covert narcissist, obsessed with my person and my passions. She took away everything I had, from money to my will to live. However, she remains the woman I have loved most in my entire life. It is already 5 months now that she has disappeared as if nothing had happened but I still feel under her control. This song is helping me a lot. I haven't found my door open yet unfortunately, but one day I swear I'll get my life back. Thanks Motionless 🖤

Hope everyone here is doing okay these days. Please be safe and know that people care about you, even if it may not feel like it at times. If you are feeling troubled, maybe professional help is the answer, or talking to a trusted friend about what you are going through. Wish you the best.

Everyone will see a song in a different perspective. For me, its the depression that has plagued my life the last 15+ years. A beautiful and painfully true image of what this mental disease can do to a person. Thank you, MiW.

I'll be happy as someone else... It deserves to cry to it but I don't have tears to cry. I only have the hate and anger, the hate to myself. One day I realized that I am really not afraid to die. It seems to be a little bit painful but easier than live, easier and not as painful and sensless as the life

I don't want to disregard your mental state, my only intent is to give a direct answer to what you said. What sense do you find in death? And also, one day you will die anyway, so why not try and make the time you are alive worth it? Once again, not trying to disregard your mental health, just trying to help you see beyond this point in time. I would recommend listening to Famous Last Words by My Chemical Romance, as you said that you weren't afraid of death and this song is about not being afraid to keep living. Hoping for thr best, better days will come!

@@gustavoferreira8980 oh, thank you for your care, I know MCR, It's one of my favourites. I don't know exactly, but it has more sense than life, it's like.. logically. I have been and am insignificant all my life and it will not change in any way, no matter how I change, no matter how I am, I will still remain insignificant. You know ... I used to worry about what my remains would look like when they found me, but now it's not very important to me. I was thinking about different ways, I have little to do in order not to survive. Some options are just disgusting, others I can not stand and lose consciousness. I also came to the conclusion that most likely I will stay alive if I fall from the tenth floor, alive but very crippled. In any case, thank you, it's nice that at least a stranger paid attention to me

@@nastiasvh2845 im glad my comment was in some way helpful. It is worrying to know how far you are into those thoughts. Everyone has significance. I thought you would knew MCR, and im glad you do. It is a matter of taking one step at a time. There are people who care about you. I do at least, and i dont think one has to know a person to care about them. Take small steps, look at the future as one day at a time. Things do get better, nothing is forever, not even life as you know. So lets make it worth living. Maybe write about how you feel. Reach out to someone. Ask for help, im sure it will be given to you. Just dont give up, no matter the consequences. I know i dont mean a lot to you, but you will always have a friend in me

oh my god. you all have been my favorite band for close to 13 years now. I've been listening to the songs released today, and while porcelain seriously hit home, this one is the ultimate banger. Chris, as a vocalist you have progressed so entirely much. I am so proud of you. forgive me for not knowing the names of everyone else, but you all compliment him so well and on your own, these tracks are AMAZING. having been with you since before creatures of the night, the progress sends shivers down my spine just by TALKING about yall. please, keep doing what you guys do. I know you won't see this, but just know you have some serious fans and red rocks this August is part of my plan. 100% 💖 edit: also the lines about living for something more: dudes, I got a promotion today that I've been fighting for for just over or under a year. it just fits with circumstances so well. I love yall.
