"So how do I apologize and put the tears back in your eyes" such a beautiful line, lyrics hit very different and this is a masterpiece for real.

“In the light of my demise, i see my failures in your eyes” u can really just feel the heart and emotion he puts into that one. Makes my heart sink every time lol. Definitely a masterpiece of a song

Masterpiece and Another Life just hit hard for me. By far two of my favorite tracks!

That line grabs you by the throat and screams itself into all your face holes at the same. This whole song hits like a truck

definitely beautiful, it's so sincere, it's like: "I know I screwed up, i'd do anything to fix it"

Chris said that this song was a letter to himself, it makes this song even more beautiful ❤

I may be biased as a life-long metalhead who has only in his older years opened his mind for other genres of music, but I think metal bands write the most beautiful songs. Well placed harsh vocals are just great in expressing sadness, pain and anger when used sparingly like in this song.
@TripleFourSC Жыл бұрын
Yep. Putting a breakdown of anger and frustration near the end after pouring his heart out fits perfectly to how real humans react. It was methodically placed and was done so well for those who can pick up on it.

One of my favorite songs by them, so beautiful and that lyric "I see my failures in your eyes" really hits home for me but the whole song is just absolutely incredible and relatable, like you said a masterpiece. Also I love it how there is mostly Chris`s cleans in this song, he`s got such a beautiful singing voice.

One of the few vocalists who's voice sounds even better live. Saw them in Des Moines last year, and it was an emotional ride to say the least.

When I heard the line "a prisoner by own hands cause if I can't have me then no one can", I took it a little differently for myself. I see it as: if I can't be myself, then no one can have me. So, basically, they have to accept me for me. But that was just what resonated with me when I heard this song. I saw these guys live several times in the last year and every time they play this, it makes me want to cry for him.

I cant love myself. Im so far away from what i want to be as a person, and theres either no way or im unwilling to do the things needed to be that person. I wish i had a home and money, but i refuse to work for it. I wish i had someone to love, but i hate myself for being imperfect. I dont know how to forgive my mistakes. I knew better i should have done and been better. My ex hates me, and i do as well. Now im too old and out of shape to get someone id actually want. I hate myself so much.

I grew up with the heavy music scene around 2007-2012, so when these guys finally got their name out there and became popular, my tastes had changed and felt this style of music was kind of, idk, outdated maybe? Regardless I had moved on and overlooked them. More recently I had heard some of their songs, and I can’t lie, I’ve been sleeping on them. Having met and been around successful metalish musicians, you experience a lot of good and a lot of bad in the community. But, the way Chris Motionless carries himself and his behavior, at least publicly, seems like he’s a genuinely caring person that loves his fans and is brutally modest. One particular interview with A.P. that makes me like him more, he explains how he doesn’t want the band to be put up on a pedestal or be told how their music saved their life or that they are heroes. He says “NO. I did not save your life. NO.. band X, Y or Z did not save your life. IF in fact you were on the brink of any self harming action… it was YOU who pulled yourself from the ledge. You saved your life, You are the hero. Why are people not willing to take credit for their own actions?”
