I know it's easy to watch videos like this and "assume" what is going on. Yes, he was born into a racing family - it truly is in his blood- His Great Grandad, both current Granddads and Mom and Dad are into racing. But by no means are we rich (in monetary terms) - shoot we are a racing family -that and rich don't go together.

Young fella, when you get an offer to work in a great place with awesome people who want to teach you everything they know, don't think just shake the man's hand and say yes sir! The Motion guys can see a lot of potential in you "even if you are still nervous". You are a good kid, they see that too. Some people will say they are only doing it to help the motion brand. Well, if that's true then it works out well for both of you. However, I think they are doing it because they enjoy helping others and seeing you grow into a world class racer as well as an awesome human knowing they had even a small part in that is like the biggest proud dad moment for all the guys. Whatever you do moving forward know that you have some of the most skilled, nicest and coolest people who care about you and your future backing you! You got this kiddo, just keep your ears clean and your eyes open!

Pete out here "polishing turds" lol Nah, this thing is awesome. My mild 454 in a 76 stepside would have trouble laying down a 13, but at least it sounds beefy. And does good burnouts. Blane has already put in years at 16. He deserves it because he is really working for it. My son is 12, and has his hot rod off road lawn mower. He worked on it to get it runnings, and its fully his own project. Slowly getting upgrades.

I hate to be critical from the sidelines, but regarding the harness, the seat should not redirect the shoulder harness in any way. The belt should have a straight line from the driver's shoulders to the harness bar (close to horizontal). The only way to fix this is to cut the bar out and reinstall it higher, especially for a big guy like Derek. You have time guys! Get that harness installed correctly, you're setting an example out there! Good luck!
