Whenever I see a motivational video, I just feel like laughing. "Listen to this amazing piano music while I yell at you for 4 minutes about how you have to do these things in order to be a good human being, hooray!" xD. And dont reply with anything about how that quote was entirely wrong, I know it's wrong, it's sarcasm.

Ivan Hui Eh truth be told, that'll probably lengthen your lifespan a nice amount, so good on you. To be fair, while it was sarcastically overexaggerated, I wasn't being completely sarcastic, those are my real thoughts about motivational videos.

Ivan Hui It's possibly because I never really understood motivation to begin with, which may seem sad, but exterior motivation to me is foreign, for me if there's something I want to do then that's motivation enough, and I enjoy it when someone goes out of their way to motivate me because that's far more impactful than me going out of my way to sit through motivational videos.

Nyxato I think I see where you're coming from. Intrinsic motivation can still be sparked (and I'd argue is always sparked) by something external. Some of these videos speak to folks in a way that moves them to do something they were too afraid to do before. If you can see past the overused soundtracks or what you hear as cliche speeches, you might open yourself to thinking about what you truly want. Then start taking the steps to achieve it. Otherwise, to each their own. Maybe you find motivation elsewhere in another form. Either way, I hope you end up being impactful on others in your own way.
