@@colleenloffredo7895 When I ask doctors for a vitamin D proxy 25 test its like pulling teeth to get them to do it, even though we pay for insurance and will pay out of pocket for what insurance doesn’t cover. I wish I can afford to go to a private doctor who is really about preventative healthcare.

Such a wonderful point to stress. Ty doc!!! My drs found out last Nov 23 my vitamin D level was an 8. I’m still on the 50,000. Iu’s a week prescription D but should be able to take otc soon. I thought I had bone cancer and was dying. Too many health issues to list. Mental issues. Skin, bone and pain that was unbearable. Insomnia. I prayed each night not to wake up the next morning. I even had a benign breast tumor that shrunk after starting the D vitamin. Please take your vitamin D, magnesium, B complex with b-12, calcium . Make sure your family takes these too. I was gaining weight and losing my hair and I’ve lost 20 lbs or so since being on vitamin D and the others. I don’t want anyone to suffer from something so easily cured. ❤

I recently became ill with all manner of neurological symptoms (light headed, lethargic, muscle cramps, poor vision, difficulty walking). It was all due to vitamin D and to a lesser extent, vitamin B deficiency. Got injections and started oral supplements and was significantly better in a few days. Doctors rarely test for this, so request it or go to a lab and get it done independently if you have any of these symptoms!

My impression of most doctors is that they mainly deal in pharmaceutical offerings. That, if a vitamin can help you or be used as prevention, they either don’t know about it or are trained to think a medication is not simply the best tool, but the only tool. Although vitamins can have side effects, too, doctors aren’t aware or don’t care whether the side effects of medications are worse. Although I found I was not B12 deficient, I became horrified to think that, after decades of being on Metformin, none of my doctors thought it would be a good idea to have that checked as, Metformin can prevent absorption of B12, which could lead to nerve problems - one of the very issues with being a diabetic.

Thanks Doc! I take 10,000 IUs and have since my doctor diagnosed me as severely deficient. I was diagnosed with immune dysfunction and I was sick a lot. I would get a sinus infection in January and it would last 3 or 4 months and I always had to have Zithromax to get rid of it. But after several months of taking Vit D, I didn't get sick anymore! And here's something REALLY important: My husband had Cancer and was in the hospital in 2020 for a period of almost 6 weeks. He was going through Chemo and we all know that Chemo destroys the immune system, so he was extremely vulnerable to any contagious disease. I too was still considered immune deficient at that time since I hadn't been taking it that long. My husband was in 2 separate hospitals. Both hospitals had large numbers of COVID patients. My husband was taking 2000 IUs per day of Vit D, the recommended amount. While he was in the hospital, we only wore masks when we were in the hallways and the doctors and nurses often removed their masks when they came into the room. Even with all that, NEITHER of us EVER got sick! They tested him every day and he tested negative. I was tested twice during that time and was also negative. I knew how effective Vit D was for the immune system, but now I am convinced that a lot of COVID patients are Vit D deficient.

@@wouterdeheus3626 i don’t take calcium i get that one from my diet. Taking calcium can cause calcium deposits. Getting it through your diet is way safer. Man need to take those supplements as well. This has nothing to do with gender. We all need these to keep our immune system strong.

@@ahuramazda980 that makes no sense, i get the Cod liver in a can and the liver is a great source of both vitamins A and D. Get these two vitamins in it’s natural form and you don’t need to worry about them interfering. Maybe getting high doses of A from a vitamin you buy, but if you get it from food you don’t need to worry about any interference. Keep in mind vitamins need to be taken in synergy of other vitamins to get absorbed properly like Zinc. Zinc is what helps the absorption.

I'm relatively young and healthy, and took vitamin D/k2 for years to offset autoimmune conditions that run in the family. After a couple years I noticed kidney pain followed by passing a couple stones. I pinpointed D3/K2 after I paused taking it and the issues subsided. I've heard others complain of the same after researching, but I did take it in the morning on an empty stomach, this may have been more specifically the issue.

If your diet is too ACIDIC you can develop stones. Carnivore might do this. I am Keto and my acidity is not bad. I would still take the D3 and K2. Maybe less. It's a trade off sometimes with foods. Like Oxalates. I don't avoid all.

For a daily intake of vitamin D capsule. What should be the dosage please?

Most do well on 5,000 IU's but you have to take K2 with it too. I like MK7 form. AND I take Cod Liver Oil for D, A and Omega-3's. What is your #? If you are very deficient some take 10k IU's for a month. Testing is the best way to do it accurately. I would not take 10k for too long though.

Yes. I took vitamin D before going to bed and I was fine for a while until I developed terrible insomnia. It left when I stop taking vitamin D at night

Never knew Testing for vitamin D and other hormone levels were not included in a CBC. After all these these years suffering from multitude of viruses and infections I finally found the problem. My vitamin D levels were 15, literally felt like I was dying.

I’ve heard that vitamin D should be taken in the evening to help aid with sleep as per Dr. Berg. Also, I’ve heard that from a neurologist.

taking vitamin D supplements in excess for a long period of time can develop specific hypervitaminosis and consequent intoxication. To treat vitamin D intoxication, it is necessary to stop or reduce its intake with drugs and supplements

How about taking it with MCT oil which does not need digestion, but absorbs into the body. 🇺🇸👍
