@@myjourney703 : It does, but not everybody makes vitamin D in their skin equally. So, a redhead (with very light skin) has fewer layers of skin to contain melanin, and less melanin in each layer,so that the sunlight’s uv rays penetrate more easily and more vitamin D is made in a shorter amount of time. Her best friend goes outside and spends as much time doing the same activities with her, with darker skin tends to have more layers of skin, and each layer has more pigment in it, which filters out the sunlight. So unlike her redheaded body, the dark skinned friend makes far less vitamin D, but for her there’s an upside to the darker skin leading less uv in: She’s far less likely to end up with malignant melanoma. So the redheaded buddy ends up having to wear more sunscreen, and the dark skinned friend could benefit from vitamin D3 supplements. That’s important to know, especially if you have very dark skin.

He had a kidney stone one inch in size but due to diet, it is the size of the tip of a pen. He lost 20 pounds by default, not trying. This is because we implemented much of what he taught and my research trying to understand what schizophrenics lack, Dr. Berg shows me where and how to get that vitamin, mineral, or whatever it is. Never in my life had I felt so great so I took down the fose of vitamin D to 2000 a day since a doctor had told me my level on 214 was too high and dangerous. Bad move, I quickly went down again with fatigue and just days ago the depression came back although not as bad as before. I had bloodtests and despite all my symptoms of another graves episode, my thyroid levels were fine however my vitamin D levels had gone down to 119. It's actually terrible because Dr Berg has got Vitamin D wrong completely here. Vitamin D deficiency is actually an indicator of a Magnesium deficiency. Taking more vitamin D will actually make the Magnesium deficiency worse so can't meaningfully increase vitamin D levels. It's Dr Berg's lack of understanding on this matter that has him recommending super doses of vitamin D but this could actually be damaging people's health. Most of the symptoms in the video are directly related to a Magnesium deficiency not a Vitamin D deficiency, it just seems like it's vitamin D because low magnesium causes low vitamin D. The fix is to first fix your magnesium deficiency. Any Vitamin D video that doesn't focus on Magnesium is potentially harmful and not in the interest of optimal health.

Keep in mind that any time you take vitamin D, you should also take vitamin K2. The ratio should be 100 mcg of vitamin K2 for every 10,000 IU of vitamin D3. My father has restless leg issues and is hunched over now. He takes Vit D but since the drs didn’t say to take a higher dose. He lives on carbs and doesn’t see a problem. At 89, he wont change, I’ve tried. My mom had AFib and instead of trying addl vit D, her Dr. suggested surgery to put in a Watchman and of course she went with it. I appreciate all of your information Dr. Berg.

@@SuraDoes Same here. Getting out in the sun seems to help, and I'm not sure water hardness isn't a factor in my case. It's off the charts here. Reverse Osmosis water is definitely on the list of things that cause vitamin D deficiency, so not a stretch to think that hard water couldn't affect it in some way. Maybe dr. Berg could expound.

Now, here is a Dr who knows what he is talking about. Since my doctor put me on VD3, I sleep better, and have tried to stop smoking, eating eating sugar and salt and exercising more. If I had known what I now know, I might have done things differently. Not to mention the fact that thyroid issues are for me, at least, accelerators that seem to drive everything else with my body. My deepest thanks to Dr Berg for all his work on these issues…and I watch a lot of his videos to educate myself and have even changed my diet. I can’t thank him enough! ❤

Wow! I have had over my lifetime 10 our of 23 on that list. I've been aware of my vitamin D status for about 20 years. I had a low number of 20 ng/ml at the start. I took the recommended amount of vitamin D for adult women which was 600 iu per day. My next test was 23 after a year on the RDA for vitamin D. Then I took 1000 iu for a year. Nothing changed. I added another 1000iu so now I'm taking 2000iu of vitamin D per day. My next test was with a naturapath and it was still in the high 20's she made me take 10,0000iu right then and told me to take 5000 iu per day from now until my next test. Next test was a big improvement at 49ng/ml so I dropped back to 2k iu per day although I still took 5k iu regularly. My current D levels are at 38 and I still have occasional vertigo and sarcopenia and incontinence issues. I know I need to find out my active D numbers but can't get anyone to prescribe that test.

I will testify that I had lower back stiffness, forearms would hurt/painful, broken rib would always hurt and there was constant pain between my shoulders before I took vitamin d. After taking VD for an extended period of time the skin on my fingers would wear away like a pair of work gloves. I reduced the amount of VD and it went away. I will also testify that when I dont take VD for a few days pain starts returning to all the areas.

I too was deficient in Vitamin D3 and had horrible RLS. I had no idea what caused it and went to 2 neurologists, tried everything they suggested (including an opioid at bedtime) to no avail. All I know is that it mysteriously went away but I cannot put a timetable on taking D3 K2 and my symptoms disappearing. I wish I had documented this. I take 10,000 IU D3 and 260 mcg K2 dailey and have no more RLS so I'm happy. Was D3 the cause of my RLS? I have no idea but it does make sense now.

A Dr👨⚕ advised me to take Magnesium, D3, Vitamin K2-MK7(100mcg for every 10,000iu D3) & B6-P5P(activated-pyridoxal-5-phosphate) at the same time. ➡One important function & benefit of Vitamin D3 is that it helps the body absorb Calcium which in turn plays a part in how the body absorbs Magnesium. The levels of Vitamin B6-P5P in the body determines how much Magnesium will be absorbed into the cells. Vitamin D3 ensures calcium is absorbed easily & Vitamin K2-MK7 activates the protein, osteocalcin, which integrates Calcium into bone. Without D3 & K2, Calcium can not do its job effectively. Vitamin K2-MK7 activates matrix GLA protein (MGP) to bind excess Calcium & promote arterial flow & flexibility. ➡D3 is fat soluble so the Dr said to take all these with a meal because they'll absorb better.....

Hi Dr Berg. Thank you for making this interesting and informative video. Myopia...hmm..I have been diagnosed with keratocornus which has made me myopic. If i think back i started becoming myopic once i moved from my native sunny all-year-round part of the world, to the Northern hemisphere and at the same time left high school where i played about 2 hours of sports a day in the afternoon sun, for university where i spent much less time indoors. Do you know if there is an association between keratocornus specifically and vitamin D3 deficiency? I would be interested to know whether there has been any improvements in cornea shape with vitamin d supplementation reported?
