Sounds great, I would close your high-hat a little more, and the mic by or under you cymbal right over your bass drum is feeding back when you hit the bell during the chorus... I will say that you have great rhythm, and you are very precise in the tempo and miod-spacing on your chops, especially on your snare beats... rock-on brother....

Oo good call on the hats, and regarding the tom mics, I mute them all when they aren't used! So it's probably the mix on my overheads! Cheapest set of mics on amazon, so that might be why :P Still working on getting the mix down right! but I really appreciate the comments, I'll 100% use them to make it better! 🤘🤘

What is your strategy to learning songs? I'm trying to learn this one right now and I've been using drum covers to see how people play it to get a better idea but I feel like that isn't the best way to do it and I want to be able to develop a better strategy and ear for drums. I am newer to drums

Hey! My process is honestly listening and playing the tracks over and over and over and over lol. Sometimes a single recording takes over 100 tries. But eventually we get there! Each time you pick up on a new beat or section. Now, I only learn by ear, but if drum tabs are a thing, you can always look for those. Another great tool is to find videos of the actual drummer (or good quality covers) for different fills that are a bit tricky Just keep on playing man, don’t get discouraged. And if you run into a part you can’t quite figure out yet. Make something up that sounds kinda like it! Improv behind the kit is a great skill to have 🤘

@@MartinBellamyMBDrums I feel like it's really hard to just listen and be able to pick up on every drum part, especially the bass drum part. For me anyways, it's way harder to hear in some songs. Also for the part I can't figure out has to be the part with the ride/ride bell in the song. Idk how to show you how I put it but I used a website to put what I've been trying to learn in drum notation and I think it sounds decent but I have no idea if it actually is what the song does.

It’s kinda like a snare roll with accents and then a bonham style snare, rack Tom, floor Tom, kick. If that makes sense 😂😭 I recommend just slowing it down a bit and working up the speed!

I am recording along with your recording of Livewire next. I watched ya on my TV and played it thru my stereo while I had my iPad video me & my bass. Sounds really good I bought a nice iPad mic made by Shure so my recordings sound nice loud and clear. I prefer jamming along with a drum track like yours as opposed to the original recording to have the bass and drums loud!! I showed the guys in my band your channel and they love your jamming!
