Just finsihed "The Heroin Diaries" by Nikki Sixx. Great read I recommend it to any Motley fan. The entire band were doing unfathomable amounts of drugs at this point. Sixx in particular was battling an intense addition of heroin. As mentioned in the book, he managed to keep it together enough to perform shows and interviews surprisingly well.Amazing book and happy to see he is many years sober now

Because you pretty much can't tell when someone is on smack, doesn't affect your thought process or anything, unless you do a lot then you'd nod off everywhere but still get moments being wide awake, Nikki was doing snowball at this point, he was mixing coke and heroin, so he looked normal because he wasn't overly sedated by heroin and overly hyper on coke.

LRN_News Yeah, if you’re not nodding out and a daily addict, it’s pretty easy to hide a heroin addiction. God, I could NOT hide IV coke, though. Guessing he wasn’t on a big coke dose here. It’s so obvious when someone is really tweaked out. Much less obvious when a heroin addict is on a baseline dose.

In Duffs autobiography (Its so Easy) Motley is mentioned quite a few times in regards to the Crues excessive alcohol and cocaine abuse. Duff states no one in Guns (including himself) came close to the excess of Motley Crue and he drank till his pancreas exploded!

I can see that a lot of people in the comments have no clue about opiate addiction. A lot of people literally hide their opiate or heroin addiction for YEARS from others, including family members. You can function normally on opiates, at least, if you have a steady supply. The only giveaways are kinda difficult to spot if you don't know much about opiate addiction. Such as tiny pupils, its slight effect on how your voice sounds. Robbin Crosby hid his addiction from his band mates and other people for years until it started affecting his performance and availability. There was a university professor who hid his heroin addiction for 20 years and one day got caught shooting up after class.

I think that Nikki was clean off heroin at this point. Right before the tour started he quit but relapsed multiple times on the tour and got addicted again

You can't just quit heroin and not be shitting your pants in pain unless he had another opiate to replace it during these times. Also even if you get over the physical withdrawals you have something called "PAWS" (post addiction withdrawal syndrome) which in regards to opiates last a month or two. You can barely function, have no motivation, feel apathetic and lethargic. He would've had a very difficult time showing up at this interview or play shows

In Heroin Diaries he explains how always when he stops it gets better after a while but then he gets hooked again. Then he stops again and gets really sick
