Ryan Campbell I totally agree. Mick Mars was never given credit for his participation in the band. He was basically ignored by the other band members. What a shame. Mick added as much talent as anyone else in the band.
@arthurbishop31737 жыл бұрын
Agree Peppi. Nikki might have had the vision, but Mick and Tommy were/are the only ones with any real musical ability. They held the band together musically, esp live. I can't imagine them even bothering to try and play live if all 4 members only had the talent of Vince and Nikki. Yikes.
@michaelr.48787 жыл бұрын
Exactly. People crap on Mick's guitar playing. He isn't Steve Vai, but he was perfect for Motley. Sure, Nikki Sixx wrote the tunes, but I'm sure he gave Mick song skeletons and a loose riff and Mick beefed them up, wrote the solos and most of the melody. Mick and Tommy are the 'music' behind Motley Crue. Really, when you listen to Motley, other than the vocals and drums, 99% of what you are hearing IS Mick Mars. Nikki just played root notes, mirroring whatever Mick was playing...essentially thickening up Mick's rhythm track.
@trayallebach31717 жыл бұрын
gotta remember who brought him into the band.....no nikki, no crue....simple as that and quite literally, since well nikki was the one who started the band and picked out those guys tommy lee and mick marrs included. if it wasnt for nikki piecing that band together based on what he wanted the band to sound like crue wouldnt have been more than another glam band on sunset trying to make it and prob not named motley crue....not saying mick wouldnt have been in another band doing those same riffs but it would be motley crew. Nikki had a vision and he built his vision and mick's playing was apart of the sound he was looking for.

As a young woman, it was Tommy, now Nikki, but the talent? I'm gonna say it's Mick all the way. Tommy and Nikki have great songwriting skills, Nikki's ability to write and make us KNOW it, he's easily one of the most talented song writers, musicians. My fave bassist. Tommy is my fave drummer. Vince, he's a great showman and had the vocals. I don't want to be negative, but my voice isn't the same as 25 years ago either. Mick wasn't the sexiest, but his guitar playing and hands were wow!

Mick was criminally under rated in the whole 80s Rock scene. I got to see Motley Crue tour with Ozzy in Dallas in 1984. Yes I'm old. LoL But I have been lucky and bought tickets to 4 different tours and took my vacation time from work to go see what was supposed to be the Final Show from those guys. While working as a Stage Tech at my local arena venue , after being sold to Travis Scott I got to build the roller coaster that was Tommy's drum set up.

If they were real he would post them daily, he would have pictures of them and videos all over because he never shuts up about it. He says he did heroin because his hero’s did, what a following poser! Then come to find out he didn’t even play his bass live on stage, he used protools. I was a female bassplayer and I worked in a heavy metal club in Amsterdam where I live. One evening the Crue just walked in, and Nikki and I started talking and drinking Jack Daniels. He loved my look and the fact that I was a bassplayer too. We went down town after my shift, and we got so drunk,I did not even know how I got home. But I found a little note next to my bed;he brought me home. Nikki is a gentleman when he wants to. Man Motley went way beyond. They are truly blessed to still be breathing. I'm glad Nikki six turned his life around. I doubt we will see a band take it that far ever again. If you haven't read heroine diaries, it's a pretty good read. I was actually suprised.

In the early 2000's I played in a band. It went from being the best time of my life to the biggest nightmare of my life. Me and other band mates liked to drink but one member loved pills, alcohol and acid. He went from being dedicated to our music when we wrote and practiced to practice can wait. He wanted to live tge rock star life style 24/7. I could be sitting at home writing and he would walk 2 miles to get to my apartment and wanted me to drive him to "some place". I did it once and ended up in a neighborhood that neither of us needed to be. He had me stop at a house while he went in. It felt like I sat in my car for an hour. He came out and motioned for me to come in but I refused. When he finally got back in the car he acted completely insane. He would roll his window down and hang halfway out and yell at people. I had to grab him by his belt loop to pull him in the car. He would turn the music up as loud as possible then he went from cd to cd. He would listen to one song then put another cd in. He went through about 10 cd's. At one point he got in my face and started screaming nonsense words. A couple times he grab the steering wheel and I thought we were going to wreck. I finally got him home and in his house. His girlfriend wanted to know where he had been because he evidently walked out when she left the room. I told her I wasn't sure where we went but he was all messed up when he came out of the house and got in my car. She actually got mad at me. I told her he had tried a couple other times to take him "some where" but I refused. I told her that he showed up at my place and had a fit to be taken to a neighborhood that I had no idea where it actually was because he had me take back roads and dirt roads. I finally told her she needed to deal with him because I was tired of it. I quit the band a couple weeks later.

Some like the violence Some like submission Some use aggression Some use a bullet in the head to be brave Some like the evil Some need the power Some bleed in vain Some get a bullet in the head instead My mum bought me Theatre of Pain when i was about 6. I loved that album and played it all the time. In 2005 i finally got the chance to see the crue live in adelaide and i thank god i did. Anyone that says vince cant sing, well your right, but he bought so much power and attitude, his voice is obviously synonymous with motleys sound and i love it, his lyrics and sound are quite brutal. The power of the band is something to behold, ive never found that thrill of excitement and power in any other sound. The only thing that has ever come close was gangsta rap. Im now 36 and its 2018 and i still pump motley out of my very grown up SUV, i love it. Growing up in the country i could only dream what the city was like and i just always imagined it was like the sound of motley crue. At most stages of my life i wouldnt even say motley crue was my favourite band but they were always near the top and have endured for me. The sound, attitude, thrill and excitement they created keeps me coming back. Its dangerous, its fucking exciting, and its powerful as fuck. They dressed like girls u say? Oh then married heather locklear, pamela anderson, donna de erico etc, yeah good argument. It was a style and it was 1981, if you dont get it, bad luck.

I’m an old lady now But back in the late ‘80s, Motley Crue was my favorite (hair) band ....alongside Metallica. Anyways, I had no idea about Nikki and heroine. No idea he “died.” No idea of his struggles. A very informative video. Saw the Crue in Florida. Brother and SIL took me to see them as a birthday gift. Was maybe 15-16. Our seats were the cheapest. SIL brought binoculars (she concerts!). As I watched thru binoculars, I saw nothing different from their MTV / VH1 videos. Just here to say Nikki Sixx was my very first crush So many of my years later: I’m thrilled with what he has accomplished! I always knew hw was beautiful inside and out By the songs he wrote

I think I enjoyed hearing the stories about Motley Crue more than their music honestly. I’m a drummer so I pretty much just listen to Tommy Lee play more than anything. But there’s no doubt that they are basically the hardest partying band of all time. 🤘 glad Nikki Sixx survived tho. I’m a recovering addict myself and know how much addiction can impact you and the things you do.

Nikki Sixx is my male side of my personality, so much like me it is scary n cool n he is my idol as well as alter ego!;; I am a 66 yr old woman, who came up in the 1960's as a young teen, in the 1970's as a teenager and my life from 13 yrs old till 17;yrs old was a carbon copy of Nikki's partying n music experiences, other than not actually dying twice n resurrecting, I was a hippie, turned, Glam rocker, turned heavy metal front person n songwriter, among some of my occupations, ballet dancer, musical theatre player, exotic dancer, burlesque dancer, motel manager twice- I lived the "live fast n die young" lifestyle just as Nikki did. My nickname is Nikki Styxx!!! I hope someday I can actually meet him because it would be like meeting the male image of myself!;!! You DO have everything you could ever hope for, Nikki, n you truly are my idol!!!! This was a great video, especially hearing Nikki narrate as well as watching the Crue perform all the early music which is still my favourites!!! The old motto of our group was "Live fast, die young n leave a good looking corpse." I am 66 so obviously I did NOT "die young", but my lifestyle is still the same on a much more lower key level, but it always goes back to the 🎶 music, that is what stairs our souls!!!! Attaboy, Nikki Sixx!!!!! P.S. I had a cat named Nikki Sixx. He was wild n crazy till he just disappeared!!!

I get high from Nikki's badass vibe! He always fired on cylinders. His twisted, animalistic mind is so damn wild and inspiring, his extraordinary way of thinking and creating showcases his pure brilliance and makes me head over hills over him all the more. His songwriting abilities strike me as flat out magnificent. His lyrics glorifies decadence at its finest, displays all the bright lights, heartbreaks and downsides of life and pulls no punches. Even being a full-blown heroin addict in his heyday he made it everytime. He's true mastermind, asset and driving force of Mötley Crüe. He's a living proof of an ardent, passionte and unabashed person. My love to him is unshakable. The last but not the least he's the sexiest man alive. Such a babe. Yum! 💖🔥💞💯💗❣️😍🤘💔
