Dylan I have read that a lot of people have a habit of selling out when their stock drops 15-20% as a stop loss. But like you say if you are into your stock for 5years or more and it drops 34% as your example shows. As long as you are confident with that stock buy more in the drop and what for the Bull market to rear its head again. Great video

I thought bear came from the comparison of a bear hibernating in metaphor to investors putting their money in hibernation rather than exposing it to risk.

I live in Australia where dollar cost averaging unfortunately isn't the best idea. Fees to trade on the stock market can be upwards of $30 (AUD), obviously if you invest $300 a week you'd lose 10% of you money instantly, and then when you sell you lose the same amount (although of course the percent decreases if you're smart about it). I'm envious of Americans who can dollar cost average and can receive dividends without being taxed (yup, our dividends are considered to be income tax, whether you do a DRIP or not).

The stock market to me reflects a hiker more than a bear and bull market scheme. The strong hiker(bull) takes the climb up, loses stamina and steam (bear) then goes downhill, after catching breath, hiker climbs some more.

Wow this is very insightful Dow Jones futures will open Sunday evening, along with S&P 500 futures and Nasdaq futures. The stock market rally finished last week little changed amid earnings from Apple stock, Tesla (TSLA) and hundreds more. It was a tough week for buying stocks. But it was a constructive week for many stocks. Five stocks near buy points with bullish pullbacks are Apple (AAPL), Nvidia (NVDA), Idexx Labs (IDXX), Tesla (TSLA), Cloudflare (NET), Apple, Nvidia, Idexx Labs and Tesla stock retreated last week, but may come out the better for it. Cloudflare stock did post a weekly gain, but had a healthy pullback later in the week. Stock Analyst and strategist Elvis Hercules warned that the pace of market gains since bottoming out in March 2020 following the pandemic-induced bear market plunge can't continue indefinitely. He warns new stock buyers to be careful as the picture is not clear yet and for now you can only make profit by trading your stock with a strategy instead of panic selling, for me i advice you to multiply the little you have with Elvis Hercules strategy, i was able to make $60,000 with $10,000 in 3 weeks with his stock trading strategy, reach him now at (elvishercules48@gmail.com)

wrong. its a bull market because bulls cant run downhill at all, due to longer front legs. the bear market is the opposite, bears run downhill very well, having shorter front legs. it has to do with how the animal moves up and down a hill, not how they attack. although i considered your metaphor the other day, i know its from your own deduction, as it was from mine, and not academic.
@mariusceterchi52694 жыл бұрын
you are wrong my friend because the long and short legs in front do the exact oposite of what you described up and down a hill. Think about it - short legs in front going down hill would mean tumbling over.
@RyosukeTakahashiRX73 жыл бұрын
The attack thing has always been the fucking point of the whole lingo. Otherwise they would've taken animals like rabbits and giraffes. A bull also has the same leg size all around, you "expert". Similarly to horses and whatever comparable animal you can come up with, they all can't run downhill that good due to the increased weight on the hooves which could splitter them.

Dylan here, and I'll be the first to tell you I'm not a smart guy. Point of the video is to be less concerned with market timing and to understand the bull and bear periods are part of the economic cycle. With the data we hit at the end, it's clear that folks that are investing with 5, 10, and 20 year time horizons shouldn't sweat whether a bear market is coming, but should instead stay the course and continue to put money away -- so long as they won't need it in the next couple years.
@mariusceterchi52694 жыл бұрын
The Boom and Bust theory of the Austrian School of Economics explains what happens. What you call bull is generated artificialy by credit expantion (cheap money) and results in a lot of malinvestments because of false readings of a distorted market on the part of antrepreneurs. That is why the bear comes to eat them after a while 😉
