Hello everyone! Just wanted to say that the Lollipop is not officially released on every Moto G 2ndG, Lollipop for the device is still on a 'soak test' and only selected Moto G devices will have the update. I'd bought the phone yesterday and expecting for the OTA update but I'm still getting the "Your system is up to date" message and stuck with KitKat 4.4.4, hopefully the Lollipop update will be released eventually this year or next month! Everything that I'd said here came from the words of a Motorola employee... cheers Motorola G users!

can you say something about the multitasking in the new moto g lollipop version.the kitkat was buggy with multitasking.it killed all the background apps more frequently.

Hi, i have just got the new Moto G, loving it so far. Just wondering with the new update, do you get notifications like active notifications on Moto X, like when ur phone is locked, a display will come up on screen when you touch it?

L Fletcher Unfortunately, the Moto G doesn't support Active Notifications. Motorola made it exclusively for the X.

You won't get the update right now because they're still testing it and my opinion ( just my opinion) is that they will release the update beginning of next year, don't freak out you'll get it eventually. I bought my Moto G 2nd Generation like a week ago and I'm running android 5 but I installed it manually , for now that's the only thing you can do if you want Lollipop.

Downloading the OTA zip and installing it to your phone. But you can brick your phone if you don't know how to do it or if you're not careful, I'd recommend waiting for the official release , it's almost here.

Most of the animations are switched off while in Battery saver mode. The animations that do remain continue to run smoothly.

agram420 I've read the Motorola fourms and possibly will come jJanuaryor sometime next year. Yes it was announced September but that was just specific amount of people. They are rolling out updates slowly. I even talked to moto customer service and i reassure you it will come to each moto g 2nd gen, you just have to be patient

Motorola played they cards pretty well creating the illusion that they beat the Nexuses to update to Lollipop. But in actual none other than the US users have got the update. That's the REST OF THE WORLD. Apart from that Moto G 2014 has an inherent flaw of apps getting killed in the background. Motorola is well aware of this issue and they havent fixed it yet. Not even their "Lollipop update" released in the US. People say it is a hardware problems. Kudos to Motorola for taking a mick out us, customers and shame on reviewers who didn't touch upon this issue.

***** Well Motorola were the first ones to began pushing out the update so that's why they technically, did beat the Nexus devices to update to Lollipop because they began earlier. But I can see your argument. Don't worry though it'll eventually expand to the rest of the world. Motorola simply picked the U.S. as a starting point.

Yes the Moto G does have all that except the double tap to unlock feature. The Moto G doesn't have the hardware necessary to do that. Thanks for watching! The messenger app has to be downloaded from the Play Store. Not by default no.

Facundo Argüello Tolosa It does suck to not have Knock Code support with the Moto G. It's a nice feature to have but not a necessity. But the Moto G is still miles ahead of the LG L80 with a better screen, faster processor and better camera.

Does Lollipop allow to change the lockscreen background? I have a EU unlocked Moto G 2014 running Kit Kat and I can't do that, I have to use the same background on the lockscreen and on the main screen..

Watching the video, lollipop doesn't feel as snappy as kitkat would. I have the Moto X currently, I'll be downgrading to the Moto G 2014 for want of memory expansion. But I won't update my phone to lollipop, I love the present kitkat just the way it is.

You'll probably get KitKat out of the box but you can manually update to Lollipop. All U.S. GSM phones should have it now I think. I received my update last Wednesday.

Is there anyway to change the background from white to black? Really don't care for the white with grey text. Really a step back and not efficient use of Amoled technology on my Moto x. Black is much easier on the eyes as well. No restart button and only shut down option when hitting the power button. Google groups have a staggering amount of folks having nasty bugs with many bricked phones. Will Google eventually force this upgrade? Because I'm not sure I will want it.

Caution-----Don't update yet.... I have done it and while most of the update is good, the most used feature by far has gone. You cannot view your contacts by group anymore!!! You have to search by name or scroll through all your contacts and can't separate work from family or friends etc. All you have now are Favorites and All Contacts I think the S**t will hit the fan on this one, and they will have to bring it back fast
