I don't understand why the Moto E nor Moto G don't have NFC. Also, this is supposed to compete with the Asus Zenfone 2, which is superior in almost every way. The Zenfone 2 has: 1) NFC 2) 802.11 ac wireless 3) 5.5" 1080P display 4) 16GB ROM and 2GB RAM base for only $199 (instead of $219). 5) Upgradeable to 64GB ROM and 4GB RAM for only $100 more 6) Has quickcharge 2.0 capabilities built in both models The two main advantages that I see from the Moto G: 1) Better speakers 2) MUCH Cleaner Android experience But those aren't exactly cost inhibiting variables. The Moto G could have had all of the same features as the Zenfone 2. Overall, this is actually disappointing because in the $200 range, the Moto G is no longer a good buy.

You can not buy a smartphone with 1 gb of ram now. I've got the Moto G 2nd generation and I realize that Android can't support a phone with 1 gb of RAM or less. But Motorola is doing a great work.

1GB RAM isn't enough nowadays imo. Im currently using an EE Harrier Mini whilst i wait for my Xperia Z to arrive and the Harrier Mini is horrible its only got 1GB RAM and it lags soo much you can barely play games on it for lag and even facebook and text messages you can be typing at a normal rate and the phone struggles to even keep up with you typing. The minute you have more than one app open in the multitasking it starts lagging. Im guessing it will be the same here if you went for the 1GB RAM version and lets face it 8GB isn't enough either for internal storage.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind paying more for 2 GB of ram. My 1st gen Moto G freezes often due to this, especially during LIGHT browsing and playing a game such as Clash of Clans (It doesn't take much to run this game but my phone still struggles with it).

It's only officially slightly water resistant. It can take splashes and rain and whatnot, but it can't be immersed. But the first gen Moto G had the same water resistant coating as this new Moto X and could easily survive being dunked in water multiple times, so it might be waterproof, but just not officially.

To make this phone perfect for me: 1. Make it at least 9mm thick. Its too thick right now. 2. Lower the screen size to 4.7 inches at least. (Still keep the same resolution) 3. Put a Snapdragon 600 in it 4. Give it a better design. 5. Put volume buttons on opposite side. 6. Make the top bezel smaller or equal to the bottom one. Too big. Edit: This is basically entry level at this point! Might as well buy a flagship from 2 years ago!

I bought a new Galaxy S4 for around the same price as the Moto G 3nd gen and it's way better spec wise. 1080p Super AMOLED, better camera, thinner overall, smaller bezels, snapdragon 600. If they wanted this to be a mid-range they would use specs like these because they are 2 year old now.

The new Moto G seems like a good handset, but the pricing may shoot Motorola in the foot. Either they should've priced at $169-199 all together, or offer a bump in the CPU for the 2GB/16 GB model to maybe a 415 or 610 if they didn't want to encroach on the Moto X Play (which makes no sense to not be in the US if its in Canada). Huawei, ASUS, Alcatel One Touch, and even BLU have changed how budget handsets have been seen at various price points. The Moto G feels more in class with the $100-150 BLU Life One than the 2 GB Zenfone 2, Idol 3, or P8 Lite. Motorola is now relying on brand recognition and reputation to sell the phone, which isn't horrible as almost 2 years ago, the Moto G made low priced phones inferior at the time in specs. Maybe they can rebrand the Moto X Play as the Moto G Plus for the US (No more Verizon only stuff PLEASE) or offer discounts down the line. The main reason I may still consider the Moto G is for a compact, capable device at a reasonable unlocked price (currently using a ZTE Grand X Max+).

ELIO A Camera still isn't great as Motorola Camera Software is lackings (also for a budget device i don't mind the 8 MP Camera). The bigger screen with the same resolution is a down size as the DPI is worse. The CPU is slight better. I don't plan to go swimming with this phone. It will have 1GB of RAM, not 2GB. All in all it isn't a bigger update reason in comparison to the prev generation.

They seem plenty fine to me, they are not outrageous, compare those bezzles to 2-3 year old devices and they are about the same, they are not trying to make it tiny, that would require more R&D and would boost the price, that is a freaken beast I'm sorry no doubting that, for a NEW phone from a well known manufacturer, plus the ability to add insurance to the phone for like 40 bucks for 2 year coverage, This phone is a monster point out one device that is as good as this for 250 including 2 year insurance cuz frankly I can't think of anything. One plus one kind of does it but still no Insurance if something does go wrong after a year and you are double screwed if you break the phone. Same for blus. I don't know of any htcs NEW that match this. Same for Sam. And same for LG there is no such thing as a cheap 2gb NEW phone from a manufacturer. Nexus 4-5* excluded again due to no insurance. Please if someone knows of a better deal NEW I would really love to know

To be honest the one plus 2 isn't that good in hardware and processor, it's got an octa(can only use 4 cores at a time) core processor but the bad thing it's only clocked at 1.8ghz compare to the 1+1 which is 2.5 ghz AND ALSO THE BENCHMARKS ARE LOWER ON THE 1+2 then the 1+1, the 4gb of ram doesn't really help out its just a gimmick
