Moto G 5G (2023) - Complete Review! (Budget Smartphone)

I have the 2022 version of this phone and I like it a lot. It is a great phone for the amount of money it cost me. No dropped calls. No lagging. Great 5G download speed. Great cell tower reception. I find myself grabbing it most of the time when I leave the house. I have better, more expensive phones, but I usually just leave them at home. This one is so cheap that if something happens to it, it won't be a big deal to me if I lose it.

So Kevin, Why is ticktock app keeps popping up even if I don’t use it? And once I’ve deleted the app, now play store page to download ticktock keeps popping up every minute, if you stay on the phone for more then 5 minutes? Any advice how to stop it? I don’t want to install and use ticktock, should I buy another, not Motorola phone?

That's why I probably will wait until the next Moto G has Android 14 before I will upgrade this phone to the later model. Mine is the 2022 version and it has Android 12 still yet. But, fortunately, it still get security updates every few months or so. And all the apps update on their own from the Google Play store.

@@phillippardo5712 Not exactly. The Google Play Store app will tell you which apps need to be updated but it is up to you to hit the update button and start the download and installation process. If you never open the Google Play Store app and do this, your apps will get out of date eventually.

I'm just getting used to this phone that I bought last week. I appreciate your review. The 2 speakers you described are great! I have a hearing loss and I can hear this phone so much more clearly than my last phone ( without my hearing aids). The 2 loud speakers are worth so much to me. 😊

I just ordered one of these as a fill in. I'm waiting for the pixel 8, so I'm going to use the Motorola phone until they release the pixel 8 version that I want. I've usually been happy with budget phones, and I like what I'm hearing about this.

I bought this phone from boost mobile for 10.00 since I am eligible for a free upgrade. It cost 200 at Amazon and the phone no longer receive update since 2022 I believe. But it’s a good back up phone just case in emergencies

I initially had the 2022 but discovered the new version was $40 cheaper. After setting my new 2023 moto g I learned that Motorola installed some bloatware on this phone and also block administrator access preventing you from removing said app “Telecoms Client. I’m still looking for a means to eliminate this app, yet to discover a method. The fact that the last version didn’t have it installed bothers me more. I hate bloatware especially ones with numerous permissions.

Got one a few days ago, and I really love it. The thing is is that it didn't come with a charger head nor a screen protector 😭 But other than that there's no terrible lagging, glitching, no-when you touch something it doesn't take a minute for you to get where you need to be. It's a great phone for work I admit that.

No charging adapter. I just bought a moto g power 2022. It came with a charging adapter. The phone was only $69.99 through Walmart family mobile.

T-Mobile gave me this phone free for signing up but its not curved on the back like the on here in this video. The one i have is more like Motorola G for generic. The 2021 moto G I had included fingerprint sensor, super loud speaker, long battery life with quick charge etc and this one has none of those. It takes a long time to charge, has only one speaker, no fingerprint sensor, and feels light weight in comparison.

I hate this phone it doesn't charge ive charged it since 6pm at 10% and by 11pm it's at 20 , and if I use it at all the battery will drop while it's charging I hate it so much

Hunk of Junk. Majority of the time will not answer an incoming call. No screen says swipe up to answer call. Does not work most of the time. Screen lit green answer button appears. Half the time does not work. Have to call back the person who just tried to call me. Waste of money. Should of stayed with an easy to use Flip Phone.

That is not good to hear. I have the older, 2022 version of this phone and one of the reason I like it so much is that it is really easy to answer the phone and talk on the phone. No dropped calls. No lagging. Great cell tower reception. I hope they didn't downgrade this phone's ability to actually function as a real phone.

Dont forget can turn on "Ram Boost" which increases your Ram size to 5Gigs. Motorola been around forever, i remember back in like mid-late 90's when Mom got the first cell phone "in the house" and sure as shit was a Motorola, the Motorola "StarTAC" flip phone.
