It may seem like Moto is creating confusing lineup but G40 fusion, G60 and edge 20 fusion are more than a year old (G40,G60 having bulky design at 225gm) . So if we remove them from consideration than Moto's lineup looks sorted with 1 phone in each segment catering to different consumers.

Bought now G82 recently and now they launched an exactly similar phone, the only difference is the LCD display. Rest EVERYTHING is same. Don't know what Moto guys are smoking! They're just ruining their whole lineup with such tactics. There's no need to launch so many phones with almost similar specs, eventually the customer will get confused and end up buying other brands. I know 3 such users who could not decide which moto g they should buy, as these models were all similar and eventually bought realme and Iqoo. Now I also feel that Software updates would be really really slow on all these phones. Moto already promised just 1 major OS update and I don't see it coming in the next one year. So many phones in the same price range would ensure pathetic software support. Though I just hope I'm wrong on this.

Using edge 20 fusion since a month and I haven't noticed any heating issues ( I am a casual user with no gaming) . Regarding the camera I would say that rear camera is ok while the selfie camera is a nightmare. Happy with the battery backup, getting about 10hrs screen on time. But it's got a really smooth display , which even the processor can handle pretty well without lags. It's being offered at a great price right now. If you are confused between g71 and edge 20 fusion , the only difference is better 90hz display, side fingerprint scanner and maybe a better camera than g71(based on the specs). in fusion while g71 has got a slightly better more trustable processor with better battery life
