Red tube coming out of the pump can be replaced. I broke mine and replaced with a Ford Fiesta one. A little grub screw inside the pump housing needs to be removed and the broken bit levered out gently. Replacing is a straight forward push fit and replacing the grub screw. Quite a saving on a new pump.

Hi Ernie, this is a real improvement. Thanks for sharing that video and including the clamps and hoses to improve the handling in service. Great

Welcome, I found those Oetiker clamps interesting to work with, for once. They are very limited in their reach, compared to classic ring clamps, so you need to carefully buy the right diameter and compensate for the little part that needs to go over the thicker top of the pump outlet. I only recently found out that taking the fuel pressure off of the system by letting run dry the engine (disconnect pump wires/connector while engine is still running), makes it much easier to take away the tank by means of the "not so quick as you hoped for fuel line connector"... Good luck!

@@wolfgangwind788 Good choice : you're switching your anonymous bike for a lady with character 🙂 I love the transparent windscreen on that model, even considered for a long time to change that on my bike! Also your Cal.Vintage has more of the original Cal.-look. I'm sure you're gonna be proud of your M.G. and hey, it's never too late to become a M.G.-technician, hahahahaha!

@@peterlaws1653 Nice planning, are you in EU or US or AU? Is there enough choise in your area? Here in EU the prices are not so bad and lots of choice. Never hesitate to ask, if you need info for repairs or whatever!
