You're right about buying Harleys. Here in Europe, Moto Guzzi was called, : Poor man's Harley. It's not. It has more in common with Indian/Victory. More gentleman-like than the Harley. Nice review. And the gangster theme is not that ridiculous. But of an earlier age than the Eldorado mkI.

I'd much rather have a Guzzi. My father had the 74 Eldorado for 30 years. NEVER a problem. I had a 76 I-Covert that I rebuilt. LOVED IT!

Bought a 2016 Eldorado and rode it out to California in August. Great bike. Took a route I did 40 years ago on an old BMW /5 across western Colorado, Utah, Nevada lonely desert highways. Get off the the bike and take a picture with it parked in the middle of the highway kind of route. Lots of now ghost bars and gas stations that I stopped at a long time ago. Bike was great, comfortable, great long distance smooth MC. Up over the Sierras early one morning at 30 degrees as the sun came up then through the California central valley 3 hours later at 109 degrees and then the coast at the city (SF) 45 degrees, coastal route to San Diego in heavy traffic the bike performed perfect;ly. Back to Colorado a few weeks later. Several 500 mile days on the trip with no pain. Bottomed out the shocks a few times on unexpected dips in the middle of no where other than that a complete joy to ride.

Bill Masters how was the heat from the engine?With the heads being next to your knees it looks like it would be hot. that really is the only thing keeping me from buying one of these bike.
@FACTOTUM_557 жыл бұрын
Bill Masters luckily you can increase the rear preload, that should solve your bottoming out issue. sag (loaded height) should be 25-30% of overall suspension travel. so about 1 1/4inch of sag between loaded and unloaded is the recommended sag for an Eldorado.

I have had several Guzzis. Currently ride the predecessor to this one in the review, a California Vintage. I have never been troubled by heat from the motor. To the contrary, the heat dissipates rapidly as the jugs are in the wind. Unlike my HD Ultra which cooked my legs something fierce with all that heat coming up from under, especially the rear cylinder.

@@GuzziFaz I've often wondered about the heat issue on the Guzzi. I could strap a leg of lamb to my thigh on my HD SGS and it'd be cooked by the end of the day, lol.
I ride an M109R 2007 Limited Edition and I love it. This is such a classic looking bike. Black and white walls make it so unique. I love the sound when you open her up and its a classy unit. Could I settle for something with less drag style and raw muscle than my M109R? Perhaps.......I watched this video 3 or 4 times before liking it as this bloke has a "different" way of presenting. I love this bike and I need a bigger garage....

I saw one at a dealer in British Columbia. I didn't drive it but when I sat on it it had a light low down weight feel compared to my Goldwing. The seating position was so comfortable. I would love to have this bike.

Proper British bike person..... Manages to pronounce Guzzi correctly at the outset, but quickly reverts to 'Goozie'. I am a Brit with fair spoken Italian, but in my riding days I was constantly corrected for saying 'Goozie'. But... In the UK back then, it was a Goozie. That was before Prada and Armani and skinny latte venti bullshit. Goozie. Proper. I only pronounced it correctly in Italy or at that Guzzi dealer down in Croydon. Anyone remember them? Run (as I recall) by a chap called Pietro. Very Italian. Anyway..... Ultimately, this bizarre 1400cc leviathan is what a BMW Mini is to an Issigonis Mini 850. The Eldorado link works in the western and southern USA, where the Ambassador and Eldorado were developments of the V7. Over here in the UK, the name is somehow blandly plucked from the ether and sounds like the marketing hook it is. The chrome panels on the tank somehow work, though. They evoke without being too crass. The new one must be a hoot to ride, but not as much of a hoot as Hutch's scoot in Magnum Force. Best of all..... A 1970s Spada.

It does look good in black but people don't see them. I had a black Harley -very cool looking- but had to dodge just about everything. After 2 months of that shit, the Harley had to go. I definitely don't like all that electronic crap. Sorry Moto- No Sale.
